Anyway, you aren't the only one. Clint D-24352 Please post the reasons why. Lucky... 0 #54 April 12, 2006 QuoteThe thing that kills me is that people who supported him are no bailing. What did they think was going to happen when we went to war? You can just quit when you feel like it? Sheesh. Its pretty normal for a second term guy to have a lower rating...And even more so for a Prez during a war that lasts more than a week. How about that little debt thingy? After Bush 1 = 4trillion After Clinton = 5.5T Currently = 8.4T and soaring. Many presidents carry a huge rating during war, too. FDR did, Bush 1 did, Bush 2 doees not...

I think is it more of a case of specific topics or issues debated. I think he was correct going into Iraq. I think more and more evidence (as in the released documents and tapes) show he was a threat to the US. If the Iraq general is to be believed then the WMDs were moved to Syria and other contries. On the domestic front. I don't like his or the congres's spending, the federization of the airport security and medicare drug programs were major FUBARS as far as I am concerned. My point? Arguments are around disagreements. Some of the issues both sides agree on.... So basically, you dislike most of what he's done.
Lucky... 0 #58 April 12, 2006 QuoteYes, he did, there's no doubt about it. As a man who has served as a line officer in the Navy, I've a bit of experience with Naval service. I disagree politically with a few guys from my various wardrooms. Hell, I even utterly hate a couple of them, but not for their political views, to be sure. Even should the two or three I hate run for office, however, I don't find it in me to do what the Swift Vets did to sKerry. One member of one of my wardrooms - who is still a surface line fellow and out on deployment right now - is a left winger and should he ever decide to run for office, the hard core hypocritical libertarian Anvil would be voting for him without question. You'd really have to have been a wardroom member to understand how amazing it is that almost every member of his wardroom came out publicly against him. That alone says a lot to me about his character - regardless of his positions on the issues important to me, which were also 180 out from where I think the country should have been taken. Since the election I've met a couple of Swifties and chatted with them about that very subject. After doing so, I state with even MORE confidence that I did the right thing in voting for GWB. Kerry earned the Swift Vets' opinion of him in Vietnam. But you are right - he did go. You're basing your opinion on teh Swift Boat Vets, yet then in teh same paragraph denouncing them. Please post what Bush has done versus what you can honestly say Kerry would have done had he been elected.
Lucky... 0 #59 April 12, 2006 Quotebecause i think that what he does is the correct thing, just in very difficult circumstances with constant criticism from people who always complain. Bush might not be the best speaker or have the right hair, but least he does his job. But then again some publics want a president who will keep everyone waiting for 2 hours whole he has his haircut (clinton). But hey, surely you want a fashionable leader!!! So the presidency is reduced to a haircut? - Let's talk annual deficit, 230B+ to 500- - Let's talk national debt, 5.5T as Bush took office, 8.4T now, and soaring. - Let's talk civil rights - Let's talk dividion within the country

Terrorist used to be just street thugs that law enforcement could deal with; now these dudes are as advanced and capable as some professional militaries. You obviously suggest we just get kicked in the nuts before doing anything...that's great thinking right there. You were the kid who got pummeled in school because you couldn't stand up for yourself and take action, right? QuoteWe as Americans don't even have the same rights and privileges we used to. Really, and which ones are we missing? All kinds of rights to privacy. Privacy is nowhere in the Const, but it is the center of many decisions. The right to have your door be the threshold of privacy is gone, now the cops may enter your house, remove you and then get the warrant. How many anti-Bushers were removed from pro-Bush rallies when not acting out? And then charges were dropped. 8th Amendment against cruel and unusual treatment was attempted to be overthrown. Seperations of church and state have been challenged and some revoked.
Lucky... 0 #63 April 12, 2006 QuoteQuoteWas that true for either of the last 2 guys? Heroes to their party. Heros to their party. Not heros to the US. The next election will not bring much change. We are in Iraq and while an exit would be a good idea, a fast exit would be very bad for all parties. The biggest problem is that the Democrats have not been able to bring a canidate to the table that was even close to a common man. When a spoiled rich Republican from an oil family is seen as more of a common man than the best that the Democrats could bring. Well, that says tons about the best the Democrats have. I would like to see both parties bring a really good canidate to the table. IMO Bush was the better canidate last time. When has a president ever beenclose to a common man? Heros, the polls say they were heros. Clinton had a 60% approval as he left office, I just heard on the boob-tube. He had 50% just after the impeachment. Even the haters loved his economy. Now even the Bush lovers hate his economy and overall policy.

Naw, ya kinda dance around it, denounce them, then agree with their position, denounce, etc... But this isn;t about you or me, it's about what the pres has done, and that's fuck this country from every angle. We can speculate what Kerry would have done, but we know what Bush has done and that leaves a lot of room for Kerry's hypothetical mass failure..... I think it's a hard argument to make that Kerry would have fucked this country Bush-style.

Vinny doesn't denounce the swift boat liars for shrub. Why would anyone denounce such paragons of truth and accuracy... Funny how the people who actually served with Kerry, IE, the ones who were on his swift boat, supported him wholeheartedly. The swift boat liars claimed to have "served with" Kerry. In reality, they never did. They may have been in Vietnam at the same time. That doesn't constitute "served with", unless you are a right wing lying sack of shit. Amazon 7 #71 April 12, 2006 CLICKY http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swift_Boat_Veterans_for_Truth Of those who served in Kerry's boat crew, only Stephen Gardner joined SBVT. Gardner appeared in the group's third television advertisement. All other living members of Kerry's crew supported his presidential bid, and some frequently campaigned with him. Kerry crewmembers have disputed some of SBVT's various allegations: "pure fabrication" (Jim Rassmann), "totally false" (Drew Whitlow), "garbage" (Gene Thorson), and "a pack of lies" (Del Sandusky).[8][9][10][11] No members of SBVT were aboard Kerry's boat during any of the incidents for which he was decorated. The only member of SBVT who was present at the Silver Star incident, Rood's crewmember Larry Clayton Lee, praised Kerry's tactics and stated that Kerry deserved the medal; he stated that after discussions with other SBVT members, he came to question whether Kerry deserved other medals for incidents at which he was not present. TheAnvil 0 #72 April 12, 2006 Reading is fundamental. "SBVT counts, in total, 16 of 23 officers who served with Kerry in Coastal Division 11 as members" Odd that my Vietnam comment has brought out such rage among our left leaning dz.com'ers. The thread has been officially hijacked to the Swifties vs. Kerry topic! Ha! Quite funny. I don't think that picking apart Kerry's records and such really add much to the conversation. I think the salient take away from the swifties is that so many of his fellow officers chosed to publicly speak out against him. To me, as a fellow who has served in several wardrooms, that is utterly amazing and speaks volumes of the man. I can't think of a single person with whom I've served that I detest enough to do something of that sort. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
