Your assumption of having to suspend rational thought in order to believe in God has no basis.

From the American Heritage dictionaries, a defination of faith: "Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence."

For me, "logical proof" and "material evidence" are crucial to rational thought. Your mileage may vary.

It's okay Jay. I know Babin thinks I am a total nutcase, loser, idiot, child, dumba**, freak, fool, imbecile, moron, simpleton, schmuck, etc, oh well!!! . I know lots of people think I am a fool for my faith in Christ, but it doesn't really bother me anymore. I can just continue to love them ( And there ain't nothin' they can do about it!!!)
Mwhahahahahahhahahhahahah!!!

We are fools for Christ 1 Cor. 4:10
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Cor. 1:18

Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults Isa. 51:7

I'm so happy! God is good!

Wow! You GO Girl!!!!

Of course that is bullshit since evolution theory does not need to get rid of God to be.

There ARE those who recognize evolution theory(and yes, it is an ongoing and always changing idea that has not yet been proven in its entirety - hence the THEORY portion) and still believe in God.

But as usual, those who don't believe in evolution like to dumb down the choices.

And that is all I have to say. I am not getting into another evolution arguement.

the movie "passion of christ" is nothing more than an exercise in mass mind control. it is the most disgusting diatribe yet produced on the mythological virgin-born "saviour". jesus was no more real then than the man in the moon is today
we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively

wishers never choose, choosers never wish

Yup, he's a quack....
I think I hear the same laughter as Sarah....

So bow up, get yourself a lawyer, and go collect your money if you've got all the answers you need from evolution. He's just a quack. Go take his money. It's a real offer.

He doesn't have the money.....(you didn't read it, did you?;))
Don't take it personally that your belief system makes no sense to me. If it works for you, great. Mine works for me just fine. My intent in entering into these silly discussions is to get people to think for themselves.
I don't see myself as a sheep, consequently, I don't feel I need a shepherd. I don't presume to know how you see yourself.

What do I know anyway...I don't believe in Santa Clause either...

What makes you think it's not a legitimate offer? Just because the money isn't his personally?

Are you a good person? Have you taken the test in my sig line?

Santa Clause is ficticious and irrelevant in this conversation. So is the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy. We're having a grown up conversation here. Not telling children's stories.

No, I'm not a good person.
What have you got against the tooth fairy, anyway?

So, if what the Bible says is true, you're going to hell, correct?

So, if what the Koran says is true, he is probably going to hell then as well.

And you too. It is all about perspective, isn't it?

are you going to hell?

God would be completely justified in sending me straight to hell based on the fact that I've broken his moral law more times than I can count. It's as if I'm standing in front of a judge who's about to pass sentence on me. I'm already guilty. That is obvious when shown the law. My penalty is a fine which I'm not capable of paying, therefore, I'm going to jail for the rest of my life. I plead with the judge and tell him that I'm really a good person, that I'm sorry and that he should let me go free based on my remorse. However, he is a just judge and must punish my crime whether he likes me or not. Just before passing sentence, someone I don't even know walks in and pays my fine in full. The judge is then able to let me go because justice has been served. In answer to your question, I am not going to hell. I'm going to heaven. Not because I'm a good person but because I'm a bad person who's been forgiven. Jesus Christ suffered and died on a cross to purchase my soul.

Depends. Islam is a works based religion. They can't even tell you themselves if their salvation is secure based on their requirements. You constantly wonder, "Am I good enough" when in reality, no one lives up to God's standard of goodness.
