The Simpsons as Philosophy

Discuss. Should Homer Simpson be considered a great philosopher?

No, but perhaps Matt Groening (and his creative team) should be. :)

Yes, with scenes like;

Lisa Simpson: Nobody will listen to me because I'm a girl!

Homer Simpson: Every one listens to me, I'm a white male ages 25 to 42 (as he reaches for a product called; Nuts-n-Gum together at last)

Who could argue.

I love the Simpsons. A few years ago I had an English teacher teach the course around episodes of the Simpsons. I know he would say that Homer Simpson would be but I wouldn't go as far as saying he is a great Philosopher.
