warpedskydiver 0 #1 June 8, 2006 Last night at around 11pm I heard a noise outside and my dog started barking. I went outside to find two grown men (20yrs+) in my yard 15 feet from a bedroom window and trying to break down the old farm fence with a bicycle in order to "cut through" a wooded area belonging to a fequenty robbed car dealership. ( I live on the end of a cul-de-sac and it is a dead end subdivision ) I told them to stop and leave my yard NOW. One perp says "fuck you old man go back in your house" ( I am 44 ) I inform him if he does not leave I will set the dog on him, his reply? " I will sue you you cant touch me even if I break into your house" To me that was a threat of implied violence against my property. They also informed me that they would " be back " Gee I hope so ....hmm the Benelli holds 8 rounds BTW I did call the cops ASAP and they took 20 minutes to arrive. Anyone else ever have a problem like this? I have had car jackings and armed robbers wind up trying to seek refuge in my yard, only to find me, or my dogs, or both home. Rookie120 0 #10 June 8, 2006 The sound of your 12guage racking a nice 3" 00 buck round into the chamber would have them singing a very different tune. Having that nasty pepper spray that come in the big can that cops use for riots would have been good also.If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! I wouldn't have gone out w/o being armed (I'm NEVER unarmed) and after smartass #1's first remark, out would come the firearm and at that point I'm sure that would be the end of the discussion. The perps would have disbanded. If the didn't and decided to call your bluff, it would have been time to neutralize any threat. No racking sound it's an Auto M1 Tactical with a Surefire light in the forearm. They did say " were gonna stuff that flashlight up your ass if you don get it off of me" I wonder why they thought I was holding a flashlight? in hindsight, yes I could have shot them both dead, but instead let them go on to live their miserable lives.
