idrankwhat 0 #127 June 20, 2006 Quote So you are saying the US threw the first punch and started violence against Muslims because we didn't care what they thought about us? If by "throwing the first punch" you mean manipulating the politics in the region so that it's favorable to US interests, then yes.

popsjumper 2 #129 June 20, 2006 Face it guys...America, the country, is an arrogant asshole. We've elected ourselves the World Police and it's coming back to bite us in the ass. That view of, "We'll help them and they will be our friends" is only good for the very short term. Only England and Israel of the major world powers stand out as long-term allies. Besides, all that help comes with strings attached and nobody likes a metaphorical gun held to their head. A good example is Iran...we supported them and provided them with all kinds of aid (economical, military, etc, etc...) and what did it buy us? Short-term access to oil. How about since the Ayotollah Assholini? Did you feel the bite in the ass? Don't mind me...I'm a simple proponent of live and let live.My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239

I suggest you Google "Mossadegh" before proclaiming just how good the US had been to Iran.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
