I have heard from some people on here that say the reason we invaded Iraq was not because of the WMD but because of the UN resolutions Iraq did not comply with.

So if that is the case why have we not invaded Israel yet? Why do we give them aid?

Israel has disobeyed far more UN resolutions then Iraq ever did.

Simple, the US administration has no problem with hypocrisy and double standards. Sad.

More like all the ridiculous double-standards that have been applied to Israel by the UN over the decades (this is the same organization that has regimes like North Korea and Cuba in its so-called "human rights" conferences).

I was just going threw the resolutions list. It is just crazy how many of them Israel has not complied with.
They always claim that the Palestinians or Muslims brake the peace meanwhile they never follow the agreement to even allow peace to occur.

Unfortunately you can’t have it both ways.

The original excuse for invading Iraq was WMD, when non were found people said it was also because they did not follow the resolution so why was the UN resolution considered enough reason to go to war then but when it comes to Israel it is considered ridiculous?

Most of the resolutions are asking or condemning Israel for killing people and not respecting borders. Or asking Israel not to have a military prade in Jerusalem which is a holy city for Christians, Muslims and Jews.

I don’t see asking Israel to respect its neighbors and theer boarders as ridicules.

If you do not respect the boarders and dignity of your neighbors they will not respect yours.
Israel still has not learned that.

Without looking it up I believe that in resolution 1441 it was explicitly stated that Iraq would face military action if it did not comply to the letter of the resolution. I doubt that threat has ever appeared in resolutions against Israel.

No, because the US has a tendency to veto most resolutions against Israel so they have to be worded precisely in order to pass. Taking that into consideration, I wonder how may resolutions there would be against Israel if the US didn't use the veto so often?
