Why the automatic comparison to things that happen in the U.S.? Okay, how about this? While I was in barcelona a in 2000, I just happened to be walking down the street when an anarchist protest broke out. The idiots broke ATM machines, vandalized, and sprayed the Anarchist 'A' all over buildings. There. Not the US. Crazy bastards are everywhere. But since this board is filled with many americans, a US comparison is often the best choice to convey the thought. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing. Unfortunately there are people who feel that way. I am sure you have seen on here people with the mentality of kill them all or they are the problem. It is all the Muslims fault. Looking at our self and our own citizens who do the similar things is a good way of staying grounded. JohnRich 4 #31 August 17, 2006 Quote Looks like JR's best student is showing his masterpiece... I'm growing a little weary of you jumping around to different threads to make fun of me. This behavior just makes you look infantile. If you have something to say about me, have the guts to say it directly to my face, in person, and not behind my back. BRIDGEWOOD 0 #33 August 17, 2006 Appears to be kinda cold for those pictures to be recent. Besides that, look at the guys jacket on the right in the first picture. I'd say this photo was taken around 1975 or so.

skydyvr 0 #35 August 18, 2006 Quote But since this board is filled with many americans, a US comparison is often the best choice to convey the thought. Maybe, but when a comparison to the U.S. by Americans becomes a predictable, automatic, everyday reponse to problems described in other parts of the world, all in the name of making a statement that "see, were aaaalllllll the same", it gets a bit discouraging to read. We're not "aaaallllll the same" around the world, and to believe that will lead to our demise. . . =(_8^(1)

Most americans know america better than they know any other country. It's like a skydiver discussing risk, and using examples from skydiving instead of from water polo. Would that seem odd/discouraging to you?
