Obviously, since the guy they arrested hasn't been convicted yet, we may still find that the Ramseys were somehow involved in her death, but their decison to have her participate in pageants is unrelated. Now... there's the whole separate issue of what participation in pageants could do to a young girl's sense of self-worth; does the emphasis that her parents and the whole pageant establishment are placing on looks from a very, very early age tend to warp her self-image to an unhealthy degree?
