billvon 3,070 #7 September 18, 2006 Since then the media has been carrying on with their usual sensationalist support of the administration. Page 1 carries the usual scary stories about a nuclear Iran, and Page A18 carries a blurb that says they don't really have any weapons. See if you can spot the similarities between these two Washington Post stories: ----------------- Washington Post September 19, 2002 Page A18 EVIDENCE ON IRAQ CHALLENGED Experts Question if Tubes Were Meant for Weapons Program A key piece of evidence in the Bush administration’s case against Iraq is being challenged in a report by independent experts who question whether thousands of high-strength aluminum tubes recently sought by Iraq were intended for a secret nuclear weapons program . . . ------------------ Washington Post September 14, 2006 Page A17 U.N. INSPECTORS DISPUTE IRAN REPORT BY HOUSE PANEL Paper on Nuclear Aims Called Dishonest U.N. inspectors investigating Iran’s nuclear program angrily complained to the Bush administration and to a Republican congressman yesterday about a recent House committee report on Iran’s capabilities, calling parts of the document “outrageous and dishonest” and offering evidence to refute its central claims… “This is like prewar Iraq all over again,” said David Albright, a former nuclear inspector . . . -------------- I predict that in a year or so we will be seeing another one of these: --------------- The Post on WMDs: An Inside Story Prewar Articles Questioning Threat Often Didn't Make Front Page Howard Kurtz Washington Post Staff Writer Thursday, August 12, 2004 Page A01 Days before the Iraq war began, veteran Washington Post reporter Walter Pincus put together a story questioning whether the Bush administration had proof that Saddam Hussein was hiding weapons of mass destruction. But he ran into resistance from the paper's editors, and his piece ran only after assistant managing editor Bob Woodward, who was researching a book about the drive toward war, "helped sell the story," Pincus recalled. "Without him, it would have had a tough time getting into the paper." Even so, the article was relegated to Page A17. "We did our job but we didn't do enough, and I blame myself mightily for not pushing harder," Woodward said in an interview. "We should have warned readers we had information that the basis for this was shakier" than widely believed. "Those are exactly the kind of statements that should be published on the front page." -------------------

Add France, Germany, Russia, Spain and the UK too; they're all critical of our noble actions around the world. Come to think of it, who else besides the US is anything but a bunch of lousy terrorists? I used to think that way until I woke up. Of course ive got the rap by now of the evil conservative. I am not a fan of the Bush asministration. To compare our history and the middleeast's is just wrong. Since when did we take hostages in embassy? (go ahead and pipe in on Japanese amercans WWII..that was a worldwar and shoudnt waste thread space) Maybe we should get an age poll on here so we can get an idea of who was around when. Don't forget most of these people hate us for our Judeo Christian majority, or are pressured by thereof. Ofcouse they hate Isreal also. Iraq did invade Kuwait. That got stopped, quick. As much as we like to hate the CIA, they know alot more than we do. The UN had allready quoted that they want all UN countries to limit guns to military and police. I hate the U.N. I think most of them are jealous of our success. If we did such, we would hand ourselves on a platter to China. You better look at the size of their militia. If Iran and Iraq wanst lead by such religious fanatics, I dont think there would be a problem. We let Germany run on nukes. The islamics there have a whole different line of thinking than us. Nobody here even thinks the way they do. This is a whole different situation than we are used to encountering, just like it was with Japan in WWII. Do you actually think that the UN can keep their eyes on them, at all times? The middle east is very confusing, one day ally one day not. To call you own country terrorists, thats really nice. It seems to me we give warnings, plenty first. If we werent moderators in this NUCLEAR AGE, i am sure we would allready be sucking in fall-out from them bombing each other with small nukes.www.911missinglinks.com the definitive truth of 9/11..the who and why, not how You can handle the TRUTH www.theforbiddentruth.net
billvon 3,070 #9 September 18, 2006 >To compare our history and the middleeast's is just wrong. I'm not comparing the two. However, it is also a mistake to ignore the lessons of history. >Since when did we take hostages in embassy? go ahead and pipe >in on Japanese amercans WWII..that was a worldwar and shoudnt >waste thread space You answered your own question there. >Don't forget most of these people hate us for our Judeo Christian >majority, or are pressured by thereof. That's as true as claiming that most Christians/Jews hate Muslims, based on Israel's use of cluster bombs against civilians. >As much as we like to hate the CIA, they know alot more than we do. That's been proven wrong more than once. >The middle east is very confusing, one day ally one day not. Indeed! Perhaps we should not sell Stinger missiles, AK-47's and helicopters to Middle Eastern extremists. That way when they turn against us they won't be as well armed. >If we werent moderators in this NUCLEAR AGE, i am sure we would >allready be sucking in fall-out from them bombing each other with >small nukes. Only one country has used nuclear weapons against civilians. Only one country has created such fallout from aggressive use of nuclear weapons. (Guess which one?)
