lawrocket 3 #5 October 11, 2006 From the story: QuoteOne essay Barrett is requiring students to read is entitled: "A Clash Between Justice and Greed," and argues that conflicts between Islam and the western world were made up after the "collapse of the Soviet Union to justify U.S. 'defense' spending, and to provide a pretext of controlling the world's resources." I guess he doesn't believe in the October Surpise - there was no conflict in 1980 between Islam and the US. I suppose the TWA Flight 847 hijacking was another hoax - probably shot on the same set as the lunar landings as a ploy by the US government. Whomever it was that played Captain Testrake was an amazing actor. My wife is hotter than your wife.

sundevil777 102 #7 October 11, 2006 Just because something is interesting doesn't make it true. What do you think are the most convincing bits of so-called evidence that the WTC attack was self inflicted?People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
akarunway 1 #8 October 12, 2006 QuoteJust because something is interesting doesn't make it true. What do you think are the most convincing bits of so-called evidence that the WTC attack was self inflicted? I'll answer that as far as 9/11 is concerned. Sure looked like a controlled demo to me. And the Pentagon attack? Where are the wing marks as the plane went into the building. And why did the FBI confiscate all the video never to be released? I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
sundevil777 102 #9 October 12, 2006 The best you can do is that it "looked like a controlled demo to you"? In what ways? Do you think the buildings fell down too quickly? Wing marks? Do you really think all the people that saw the plane in flight and crash were mistaken? The front of the building collapsed, didn't it? Video confiscated? Pretty slim stuff to base such a conspiracy on.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. The front of the building collapsed, didn't it?> The Pentagon>Looked like a missile hole in the Pentagon to me What is the wingspan of the supposed plane? I'll get back to you and superimpose a plane the size over the entry hole. Or just watch the fuckin movieI hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. We have the people who made missiles look like passenger jets, the military personel who implemented the attacks and the air traffic controls who monitored the path of the actual jets and missiles. Finally, there are all the hundreds of "top of their field", experts who studied the WTC Towers and Pentagon building and signed off on the official story. Here it is, five years later, and not a single person has come forward (even anonymously) claiming to have been a part of this supposed conspiracy. Back to the topic of the OP, I always thought higher education was about learning about a specific field and (a big "and" here folks) learning how to think... how to study something and reach your own conclusions in an intelligent manner. More and more, I hear stories of how later is being supplanted by liberal professors trying to indoctrinate their students with an extreme ideology. Additionally, I've heard numerous stories of students being penalized for challenging these leftist teachings. Maybe these are just rare, isolated cases that get a lot of exposure, but I tend to think it's much more of a widespread issue.

I'll get back to you and superimpose a plane the size over the entry hole. Or just watch the fuckin movie What missile is that big in diameter? What missile has landing gear and wheels and large turbofan engines, which were at the site? The 757 is not a widebody airplane, it is the same body shape as a 737 (6 across seating), which is 3.76m across, 4.01m up/down (it is not quite circular). The wingspan is about 38m. I suppose ICBMs are about that big in diameter. Before the outer part of the pentagon collapsed, it looks like a wide area was affected (lack of vertical wall 'columns' at the bottom) as shown in the attached picture. The wings are very strong in one direction (providing lift), but not nearly so strong in their ability to resist getting ripped off the body from such an impact to the ground and building. I watched the movie, it was bullshit. So, it looked like a missile hole in the pentagon to you. So what, you have no experience on which to base that conclusion. So, the WTC towers falling looked like a controlled demolition to you. So what, how many collapsing buildings have you watched that were not controlled demolitions? You have no experience on which to base that conclusion. I can understand having problems with Bush and US foreign policy, but this junk is just not true.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. Lickablecode 0 #14 October 13, 2006 I wouldn't bother arguing. The ignorant, no matter how educated, will always be ignorant. More importantly, they will always debate about which they have no experience or expertise.
