DudeNZ 0 #1 September 7, 2017 Hi Gang, I bought a second hand rig from a guy who is 5'9 and I am 5'11 closer to 6'0. Now when I put the rig on and tighen it up, the hip rings dont sit on my hip bone. But just above by about an inch. The rig feels good and secure. However I am told by my rigger that the laterals should sit on my hip bone. Container is a Talon FS. Any advice on this? Should I be worried when I go to jump it? Andy
gowlerk 2,206 #2 September 7, 2017 Most second hand rigs do not fit their new owners perfectly. This is mostly a comfort issue and not a safety issue. Most rental gear that you have used fit you about the same as the contain you bought most likely. Advice? Go jump it. You may find that under canopy the angle of the leg straps will cause uncomfortable chaffing in your tender inner thighs. But probably not.Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
DudeNZ 0 #3 September 7, 2017 thanks man, put my mind as ease. Got badly hurt a few years ago and it was freaking me out a bit after being away for a few years. Andy

councilman24 37 #5 September 7, 2017 Biggest danger may be chest strap. They tend to be high on Talons. If they harness sets too high it can catch your chin on opening. Hang in it and see how high it is. It can be dangerous.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
gb1 3 #6 September 7, 2017 I "unflared my legstraps or stacked them under the pads to get center line of pull further into crotch on my T-2. Big difference. Can now tighten leg straps around leg. Holds chest strap down at least 2''. Chest strap area is a little too active to move it down by removing and lowering. Now I can use chest altimeter if I choose, without eating it.
