If you misconstrued Islamic governments as one being secular, then is my mistake, the ones I'm referring to are those where Islam and state are inseparables (AKA non-secular). Sharia is the law....

It was my understanding that there is a lot of struggle in Pakistan to water down sharia law betwwen those who seek more open societies and the extremists.

again I don't get the impression that the current, extreme view of islam is that it's a religion of 'justice' - my impression is it's being abused by a very visible splinter group as a religion of vengeance and dominance. Re: IDF going after insurgents--It's to be expected. What we have here is asymmetric warfare: Guerilla attacks and religious drum-beating by the Muslims against a well-trained and well armed miltary.
