Skyrad 0 #1 November 8, 2006 There are 2.1 billion Christians of various denominations is the world. There are 1.3 billion Muslims in the world. That means in total there are 3.4 BILLION people in the world that believe that Jesus is coming back. What do you think? If you don't belive its true then a) Why not? and b) What makes you think you know better than 3.4 BILLION PEOPLE?When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. CanuckInUSA 0 #3 November 8, 2006 QuoteWhat makes you think you know better than 3.4 BILLION PEOPLE Because I have enough independent thought NOT to be BRAINWASHED by some man-made religious dogma. I don't doubt that some dude by the name of Jesus died on some cross many many moons ago. But the man was human just like the rest of us, and he died on that day and can't come back any more than one of your dead relatives (or mine) can come back. freethefly 6 #4 November 8, 2006 Well, according to ZZ Top; Jesus just left Chicago and he's bound for New Orleans. Well now, Jesus just left Chicago and he's bound for New Orleans. Yeah, yeah. Workin' from one end to the other and all points in between. Took a jump through Mississippi, well, muddy water turned to wine. Took a jump through Mississippi, muddy water turned to wine. Yeah, yeah. Then out to California through the forests and the pines. Ah, take me with you, Jesus. You might not see him in person but he'll see you just the same. You might not see him in person but he'll see you just the same. Yeah, yeah. You don't have to worry 'cause takin' care of business is his name."...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." windcatcher 0 #5 November 8, 2006 I believe he is coming back and he will take his true followers with him. ( His plan, not mine) Of course, even with a disappearance of millions of people, especially people who loved God...no doubt in my mind it still won't be evidence enough for those left behind. stevebabin 0 #6 November 8, 2006 My mother is fond of saying "If a billion people do a stupid thing, it's still a stupid thing" Simply because x number of people believe something absurd doesn't make it the truth. There were a lot of people that believed in the gods of the Roman empire, most of their population. Today, the vast majority sees that they were wrong. The same can be said for all the gods that people have believed in in the past, and will be what happens to the gods that people believe in now. The idea that someday a percentage of the population will magically dissappear and go to a happy place is just as laughable as all the beliefs of all the past religions. It's all a crock."Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. Religion will fly you into buildings." "Because figuring things out is always better than making shit up." Yes, we will. It's a shame, though that so many people will be killed in the name of a god that doesn't exist, in the interim."Science, logic and reason will fly you to the moon. No Muslims belive that Muhammed was God's last Prophet but he has done his thing and won't be coming back Musliims belive that Jesus is more special than Muhammed as he will com back and sort the wheat from the chaft just as the Christians do. There are only two real diffrences in the belife relating to Jesus between Christianity and Islam. 1) Muslims belive that Jesus was a Prophet, the most important prophet in fact. 2) That Jesus wasn't crucified. They belive this is the case as they can't belive that somone so special to God would be allowed to die in such a way, they belive that Jesus was far to special to die on the cross. Other than that (Yes I know the major importance of those two points) Christians and Muslims (I'm not talking about extremists here) pretty much belive the same thing. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
