I'm rather convinced that using the taser that way was unnecessary, and rather brutal. I thought the purpose of a taser is to incapacitate someone, not to make them stand up or to inflict pain once they're down.

Tho I've not had the pleasure of being tased myself, I gather the purpose of the device is to make someone limp. If the guy is already acting limp, there's no point in tasering him. And once tased, limpness would certainly be no further excuse to tase again.

I agree. If the guy had gone limp they should have just delt with it and carryed him out. They shock him enough times thats going to end up being the result anyways.

For what it is worth, it is videos and treatment like the one posted from the cell phone that make citizens unwilling to deal with and afraid of the police. It makes everyone involved have a much harder job.

Bottem line he was asked to leave, he chose to NOT leave. Or to not leave in a timely manner. The cops are called he then is leaving/decides to leave BECAUSE the cops are there.

Your right they shouldn't tase him or shoot him. I agree just beat the shit out of him for wasting there time and acting like an ass.
