steveorino 7 #39 November 17, 2006 QuoteYou're out of line ... I've banned you from this forum for 14 days. GOOD! I'm too old to see or hear that term in any other light other than that from my youth. Growing up in Texas in 50s & 60s I remember the "colored" drinking fountains, "whites only" restrooms, etc. People both black and white paid dearly to reverse a long held injustice, and it sickens me to see it or hear it regardless of the color of the skin of the person spewing that crap. Good riddance! Back on track. I bet this "somehow" comes back to bite OJ. With double jeopardy I don't know how, but I bet it will. Remember, I said it here. steveOrino
mr2mk1g 10 #40 November 17, 2006 Would it matter if Cloudburst was black? I mean... they're allowed to use the 'N' word. I certainly rely on my Welsh connections to shamelessly take the piss out of my Welsh colleagues whilst simultaneously banning other team members from doing so... PhreeZone 20 #41 November 17, 2006 QuoteWould it matter if Cloudburst was black? Nope. Now lets carry on about the topic, not about banning of someone OJ must be thinking that the real killer will suddenly start telling him all the things that are wrong in his book and will confess. Don't you see his over all plan??? Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Remember, I said it here. well, he still owes a considerable amount of money in the civil judgement, and any income to this book can't be protected the way his pensions and annuities could. To Cloudburst, who no doubt will lurk. The outrage was over an obviously guilty rich man getting off. And over the lousy ending to the spectable of this long running celebrity trial. (The only funny thing the Stanford band ever did was serenade the lawyers out of the courthouse, and then do the tribute to OJ at the Coliseum the next day)
Samurai136 0 #44 November 18, 2006 QuoteThere was a case - can't remember where/who - but a guy got away with murder (jury found him not guilty). However, a bit later, someone found some new evidence, and they tried him on perjury, civil rights violations, and something else (can't recall, again). Can any of our legal eagles here shed some light on if this is possible? I know they tried the officers in the Rodney King fiasco a second time, but it was government on goverment officials, so I'm not sure if it can apply here. It would be interesting to see if this could be done...he did it, he was found not guilty, and now he's confessing (any shrink will tell you this is a confession, similar to Bundy's "confessions" to Keppel just prior to Bundy's electocution...almost, in fact, identical). Ciels- Michele To get around the double jeopardy issue, the State of California would have to demonstrate that OJ was never in jeopardy in the original criminal trial. For example if the verdict was rigged, jury tampering, etc... etc. I think an interesting argument might be: The LA police are corrupt and tried to frame OJ for a double murder, evidence tampering, etc. This contaminated the original trial such that OJ was never in jeopardy of conviction. Please set aside the original trial and accept OJ's "confession" as a guilty plea and send him to Pelican Bay. likearock 2 #45 November 19, 2006 Quote That said, I've heard more than one lawyer say that yes, OJ is guilty, but the prosecutor fucked up and didn't prove it adequately. The jury can't find him guilty just because he's a scumbag (which he is). They have to find him guilty because the evidence the prosecution presented proved it. That's a ridiculous argument. With the sheer amount of DNA and other evidence, anyone else would have been convicted with a bowl of chili for the prosecutor. Cloudburst got it right: Quote every fucker on the jury knew he was guilty, but they decided to give white America some pay back for the Rodney King aquitals

Amazon has taken thousands and thousands of pre-orders. You are right Fox doesn't have anything to do with the book. News Corp does. News Corp is not the same corporation as Fox even though Murdock owns both. Apparently a lot of the pressure came from local Fox affiliates refusing to air the show. Whatever, I'm glad they cancelled it. -
