Nova Scotia vigilante neighborhood trial.

Recommended Posts

Neighborhood runs out drug dealer.

Interesting read. I suppose the judge needs to make a point about vigilante justice but on the other hand, when an entire neighborhood does this the system should ask why. Why don't the cops/courts etc and ask why an entire neighborhood of people had such little faith in the system that they felt it neccessary to take this matter into thier own hands.

The fuckin cops are afraid of getting shot. It's easier to go get speeders for revenue. Wonder when they will start tasaring you for refusing to sign a tiket?;)

I like this quote from the victim:
Quote

He admitted to occasionally using the drug, but insisted he did not produce or sell the crack to others.

Is there really such a thing as an occasional crack user? My understanding is that it's pretty much number 2 behind nicotine on the addictiveness scale...:S

As to the neighborhood exacting its own "justice", I'm curious if there is any history of complaints to the police and how they were handled, etc. Regardless, burning the house down and beating the guy...there had to have been a string of events over time, I'm curious as to what they were...
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

I remember reading about it when it happened and I recall them saying that there had been several complaints to the plice. Basically this was a standard middle class neighborhood where people could raise their kids without the usual urban problems and then the crackmonkey moved in and had more of his kind coming around turning a nice neighborhood into a cesspool. Sooner or later if the police will not do thier job in that situation, the community will do it for them.

Sigh...

It's a sad day when people comment on an event yet have no idea of where it happened. Even when it's written right in the article quoted. BTW, why do you assume you know where I'm from? :P

DOH!! There it is , plain as day saying
Newf-Brunswick and I go label it as Newfa-Scotia. We all aint that geographically educated in uppper canada so I humbly apologise for my transgression.:$

I figured since you jumped to defend the honour of Newf -Brunswickians you might have been from one of the Newf-lands in the East (possibly even the one owned by that prince edward guy). Ooops.

Cheers,:)
