To those who agree with suing tobacco companies:

-What about alcohol companies? That's marketed in ways that make kids want to do it. Ever been in high school?

-Now... you wouldn't also be the same people who would like to see drugs legalized, would you? Can you imagine how many people you'd get to sue if you had your way?? YAY!!!

I challenge you to find an illegal drug that kills as many users (per 100,000) as tobacco, or even alcohol.

We are talking dead users per 100,000 users and not people right?
In that case I think crack would be a very good bet.
Cheers,

Vale

I can't find any crack specific stats, but cocaine in general is not as deadly as tobacco. I would be reluctant to believe crack is any different.

Cocaine is VERY deadly to pregnant women! I would much rather she smoke than do cocaine. Placental abruptions are MESSY!

Cocaine is not physically addicting. On the other hand, there's crack...

Cocaine is quite addictive. Crack is, also, but not the "one hit and you're instantly an addict" kind of addictive that was once believed.

Per 100,000 users, cocaine kills fewer than tobacco. That does not imply either is safe or non-deadly. Using either during a pregnancy is a bad idea.

It's funny what we think we know. I did an internet search to get proof that crack is significantly more addictive than powdered cocaine. I checked out five sites that seemed credible. None said anything about crack being more addictive than snorted coke. One site pointed out that much of the late 80s hysteria around crack was unfounded. It pointed out the poor scholarship that went into a number of "studies".

whaddaya know. :S
