There are many people in here, Iraq, that wanted the certainty of his death. As long as he was alived, the opportunity for him to be back in Govt, was a very plausible possibility in their heads, mind you after almost 40 years (counting since Baath took power) controlling this country, it is not that hard to find people who have no problems and actually celebrated his death.

I have treated patients that supported him, and whose hatred is so intense that regardless of giving them caring medical attention, the only words that come of their mouth is death threats towards the people around them. And these are not Iraqies I'm talking about.....

They turned attention away from Afghanistan for political reasons. They claimed "Mission Accomplished" for political reasons.

This incident was not nearly as savage as the beheading incident to which those posters are referring. But if posters above had those kind of reactions to an event that happened halfway around the world to someone they didn't know, I can see some stronger reactions to an event that happens in one's home city to someone who they _do_ know.
