Is Armageddon coming round to visit?

Please correct me if I am wrong but at this time there does not exist a rogue nation with a large enough nuclear arsenal to obliterate the entire world. Thus, if an armed conflict involving a rogue nation escalates to the use of nuclear force there will be massive damages but it remains unlikely that it will result in armageddon.

it doesn't need to be a "rogue nation" as the treaty doesn't have any formal verbiage about using the existing weapons that are already in existance, (at least the way I understand the treaty)...

Yes, but it is unlikely a non-rogue nation would use nuclear weapons against another non-rogue nation because logic dictates that doing so will result in nuclear proliferation. There is a reason that the developed nations have not launched nuclear attacks against each other, it is in no ones best interest to be obliterated.

When the day comes where child molestation is acceptable and openly practiced, I bet we're not going to be too far off.

In fact, the perverse things our society accepts right now shows me we can't be TOO far away. B|
It's only going to get worse!

Can you state why you believe the world is getting worse?

um, there is ONE rogue nation with a large enough nuclear arsenal. It even has a leader who is rather "arsenal".

The unique circumstance now is that the people who have the power to bring around the end of the world WANT the world to end.

Discrimination based on religion is bad and all, but isn't it just practical to deny nuclear weapons to people who think armageddon is inevitable and desirable?

I do agree - there is enough going wrong with how allied forces are conducting themselves in Iraq and Afghanistan to seriously piss me off. But what really pisses me off are the individuals who are unable to understand just what these 'people' are all about, and would quite happily stand back and do nothing, allowing themselves to be f'ed up the arse for want of a better expression. Jeez!

'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

I was wondering when this angle would be expressed in earnest.

Korea? A situation in which the United States of America and China would be involved and most likely on opposite sides would have the potential for nuclear proliferation but I do not believe (given the history of both nations) that either nation would use nuclear weapons against each other unless all other options had been exhausted.

Korea does not have that nuclear capability (large enough to destroy the world). I was talking about a different rogue nation. One a bit closer to home.;)

May I ask, what rogue nation are you referring to?

There are just too many Gay people now....the world is going to end.

Quote

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof; from such turn away.
2 Timothy 3:1-5

Sinful activity, not just homosexuality, will continue to become more and more acceptable in society until it is as perverse as what is described above. We seem to be on the downhill slide.

Are we ever - is it any wonder we're (America/the west) referred to as the Great Satan?

Whilst on the homosexual front - the Afghan's males quite happily indulge in 'bum' nights on Thursdays. Generally it's the blokes without beards who get bummed. Disgusting.

<> .... whay would you think that they are being sinfull?

Because it is an abomination to God. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike a person because they might be homosexual. I dislike and do not approve of the lifestyle. That does not mean that I'm judging them. They can live however they want to just like I can. My nextdoor neighbors are lesbians. They are the best neighbors I've ever had and some of the nicest people I know. We are very good friends and we even spent Christmas together this year. Anyway, in answer to your question, I'd refer you to Romans 1:27.
