Ths sad irony of this is I have a beautiful English labrador who is cleaner, quieter, and better behaved, and she would have to be confined to a cage in the cargo hold. [:/];)

it's a good thing, it give CrW dawgs some company

A charitable gesture, but I really don't want to subject her to such tawdry behavior.:P

Agree with the Airline, Kick the stupid fuck out.

Thank you for being a good parent your doing all of us a good thing by disciplining your kids. We wouldn’t have so many fucking pieces of shit adults if they were thought discipline and consideration as a child.

"We weren't given an opportunity to hold her, console her or anything," Julie Kulesza said in a telephone interview Tuesday.

You grab the damn kid put him/her in the seat and seat belt the little fuck.

This is a great example of what’s wrong with this world. The fucking parents think the world revolves around them so that would explain why their kid is annoying. They expect everyone to wait for them to give their child a time out or to have a talk. The statement alone shows how far goon she is. Let’s fuck 112 peoples in the plane cause she can’t parent. Always looking for someone else to blame. She should take a good hard look at her parenting style.

If you manhandle the kid like that with same anger expressed in your post, then the story very well could have changed from "Tantrum gets family kicked off plane" into "Abusive parents kicked off plane".

This isn't to say I don't get what you're saying. At some point you just have to strap the kid in and let her scream.

And sure, it's fun to see a bratty kid and her incompetent parents get their comeupance. I just haven't seen enough information to say that's what happened here.

What I don't think is so clear is the timing of it all. If the family was first to board the plane, then they had enough time to deal with the child. Then, ejection from the plane was the right thing to do.

If they were last to board, then it's possibly they were given very little time (if any) to deal with her. The crew, in a rush to get the plane going, kicks the family off quicker than they normally would have. Already late or not, that ain't right.

Now the quote from the mother about wanting to hold and console her child does indicate to me that they may have underestimated the crew's desire to get the plane going as quickly as possible. That doesn't suggest to me bad parenting though.

Some interesting questions are: What did the other passengers think about the ejection? And, would the family have been ejected had the plane not already been late?

As far as fucking the 112 other passengers, that was done by who or whatever made the plane late. Not this family.

The stove would never fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. It would have to be checked.

Normally, I think kids shouldn't be rewarded for throwing fits. However, given that she's on an airplane full of other passengers who don't want to listen to her scream, candy is probably the easiest way to keep her quiet. At that point, courtesy to other passengers is more important than discipline.

The Appalachian folk, and plenty of others, used to give corn liquor (moonshine) to kids all the time for all sorts of ailments real and imagined. I firmly belive that all airliners should be outfitted with a bottle for the occassion discussed in this here thread. One good shot of that stuff and the kid would be out like a light!
Only trouble is, every time I boarded an aircraft I would start kicking and screaming and whining like a three year old throwing a tantrum...:)

Parents need to beat their kids. Period - end of debate. Little shits need to have their asses beat if they step out of line. Children should be seen and not heard in this situation. How about disturbing the peace, public nuciance???

They should just be happy that the plane wasn't in flight and preparing to land when the child became unruley.

Capt: Well, it is a sunny day in ____ and we will be landing in 15 minutes. If you're not already in your seat please do so and fasten your seatbelt and thank you for flying Airtran.

Flight crew to Capt: Sir, we have a child that will not take her seat. We can't land yet.

...15 minutes later...

Capt to flight crew: FUCK THIS, THROW THE WHOLE FUCKING FAMILY OFF NOW SO I CAN LAND THIS THING!!!!!

It seems to me that there is a lot of people being kicked out of planes nowadays. Not saying that this family didn´t deserve it or that the guy with the bush shirt didn´t deserve it either, but i think that this zero tolerance-pass unnotice thing is going a bit over the top.

In any case, airlines should give an adequate time for passengers to make themselves comfortable in the plane before taxi. If that means to let people board the plane 15 minutes before, so be it. but it is possible that the plane arrived at the gate a bit already late, anf the flight crew had to hurry up to keep the slot. Not fair for the other passangers to have to wait for a missed slot but not fair for the family that they had to pay for an airline delay or hurry. Possibly.
