Should Cheney resign?

Recommended Posts

Yes. Scooter took a bullet for this slug. It's the least he can do.
Of course, it would be the honorable thing to do, too. Therefore, it will happen when pigs fly.

I will now wait for someone to post a "but Clinton..." comment.

Wilson deserved criticism for what he did.

Novak asked, "why did Wilson, a critic of the admin, go on the trip?" the answer was because his wife recommended him.

What he has done. I think so yes. The last VP to resign was Nixon's VP. I don't remember why, but I know he had no connection to the Watergate scandal. He resigned for something else. I think Cheney has done worse things. :|

GOP VP Spiro Agnew resigned in disgrace over a corruption scandal that occurred during his tenure as governor of Maryland.

Cheney should put a shotgun in his mouth and resign with his big toe.

And no, it's NOT illegal to suggest the Vice President commit suicide either.

:D:D At least he would be aiming it right, for once!!

Yes, Regardless of partisan opinions for or against his performence or just emotional angst, he just has too many medical problems to be in such a critical position.

Hey, you raise an interesting point! He might die in office.

Hmmm...."President Pelosi"...hmmm...

OK, fine. He can stay.

A resignation at this point could do more harm than good. With only two years left in his term and a congress working against him Cheney will be more or less a lame duck, same as Bush.
A Pres or VP of a country resigning midterm is a very serious deal, one that can have far reaching consequences (good and bad) in foreign relations. It's not the same as, say, the COE of a large corp stepping down.

I was a litle younger, but remember it well. The state of international relations was a lot different then. Also, though Cheney's actions are less then honorable, they pale in comparison to what Agnew had done. Any accusations of illegal activity by Cheney are still up for debate, whereas Agnew's crimes were pretty much cut and dried.
If we had a pres or vp resign every time they did something suspicious, we wouldn't have anyone in office for more than a few months.:D

No need,
Though he was a powerful influence on the prez. for years and was an architect in the plan to invade Iraq- He now is loosing momentum, respect, and credibility by the day- slowly becoming a joke of a historical footnote and will fade into the political background of Washington as a pariah.
