The Repuglican Party continues to be a hypocritical joke

Recommended Posts

I am so sorry that you are even attempting to compare the lives that have been lost to a lie UNDER OATH about a blowjob.

Sorry I guess my common sense must be really fucked up that I value the countries prosperity, and citizens lives more then a lie under oath about a blowjob.

Yup.. sucks when someone goes back and shoots down your rhetoric, huh.

I'll guarantee that if the Dems could prove it, they'd have Bush in the dock for perjury. They're just pissed off because they can't.

Funny how this is ALL the Repubs can say about the Clinton admin..... and they Repubs here get tired of my debt graph as if it's insignifficant.

So lying about Iran-Contra is the same as lying about about private sex? Lying about disclosing FBI agents is teh same as lying about private sex? Must suck to be relegated to that.

Oh, sorry...my bad. I thought this thread was about what Gingrich did during the Clinton BJ scandal.:S

We almost made it to the second page without someone dragging the War in Iraq into the discussion.

Almost. :S

Just as we couldn't make it to the 5th page w/o someone bringing Clinton's BJ into a Libby thread.:S

http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=2702488;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25;

Everybody knows that Clinton getting a BJ was nothing more than a right-wing witchhunt. Who he sexually assaulted behind closed doors is really nobody's business.

Sexually assaulted? You guys couldn't understand teh defintion of, "felony murder" in a rcent thread until a practicing lawyer made you understand, I don't expect you to understand the definition of assault either.:S

And then you think Libby s/b exonerated/pardoned for obstruction, yet Clinton convcted?

How so?

I thought Richard Armitage was the one who first leaked Valerie Plame's employment at the CIA. ***

You can find the same sort of hypocrisy in both parties. Right now the majority of criminals/bribetakers/officials under investigation are republicans just because over the past decade or so they've had more opportunity (and greater numbers) to get into mischief. I am sure that in a few years the democrats will rally and find just as many ways to look like idiots that the GOPers have.

It would be interesting to see a double bar graph comparing dems and repubs accused/indicted over the last, say, 60 years and see how it varies with party in power. I would guess it would back what you stated.

"accused/indicted"? yes, it would appear to back him up - whoever is in power would have more as the spotlight is on them

if we had access to the numbers of "actual acts"? I bet it would likely be a nice constant line for both parties and about equal

BV thinks the party in power is corrupt and the other party isn't so much. "power corrupts" and all that.

I think that both are corrupt all the time and only the one in power gets more attention. I think the positions of power attracts the corruptible and the difference between the party in power vs the other isn't that big a difference in the perception of power that attracts these guys.

the same graph would also support that statement

Oh yea I know.

Whenever there is any argument about this administration, the right never brings up Clinton?:|

Exactly - usually in response to a "see how bad the Repubs are" post... shows BOTH sides do it...

Oh dude trust me I am not saying that the left is better. I think it is sad that they both suck.

I am just sick of people defending things that should not be defended. Admit the mistakes and move forward.

Gingrich is a duch bag and a lying sack of shit, and lately it seems all the ones who have made claims of being religious or somehow holier-than-thou are the biggest duchbags.

Again I am not Dem. Or Rep. I like certain views in both parties and hate other views.

Way to many times when this administration shortcomings are brought up someone brings up Clinton.
I just can’t see how in any rational mind a lie under oath about a blowjob could ever be viewed as bad as what is going on right now.

Also, did you catch the thing about hipcrisy? Gingritch had teh affair as he was advocating for and obviously voted for the impeachment. Read: H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y.

Perjury = affair... got it. :S

Honestly, I consider the latter worse. I would rather have a wife perjure herself than cheat on me. Of course my preference would be a wife who placed priority on loyalty AND honesty. In terms of a president though...I don't know if I've ever seen on who valued either as desirable character traits, or at least not enough to actually adopt them.

The Repuglican Party continues to be a hypocritical joke

Patrick Kennedy crashed his car while high in DC...Yet you jump all over Rush...Where is your outrage over Kennedy?

William Jefferson was caught on tape taking a 100,000 bribe. He was found with 90,000 in a freezer. Yet he was just appointed by Pelosi to a big commitee. Where is your outrage at that?

The simple fact is this...You only get pissed when Republicans do anything wrong and ignore when Democrats do it. THAT IS HYPOCRISY!

AND he obstructed justic by asking another to file a false avidavit and then lied about that.

But only R's are hypocrits:S

Harm done. WHat is the harm done? Shall we talk debt, world peace, trade deficit and other important things, or is it that those things favor the Repugs?

Change the topic. Nicely done

What he did, apparently, was COVER UP his own scandal while pursuing Clinton's.

You mean Newt lied to a grand jury, too? :o

you mean Newt lied to a grand jury too? No but Skooter did, and thats where the hypocrisy of the entire affair blows me away. You have the Dems trying to make Fitzgeralds investigation seem important and signifigant and at the same time say Star's was a partison witch hunt and you have the Rep's saying the exact same thing and just reversing the roles. Personaly I think both cases were a complete waste of our money and did nothing more than leave me hoping that theres gonna be a quality independent in 08

It is also what made America the laughing stock of the world at the time. That a President had to testify about his personal sex life.

thanx for the tip, I will have to read more about him. I like his foriegn policy views, but not too sure about domestic policy, from what Ive read he seems very Libertarian, not that this is bad, but not quite what I feel this country needs right now to heal the rift between the Left and Right
