Why does my post exemplify why we will never see accountability? Because I don't want to shoot first and ask questions later? I am curious how the case worker was not aware of this and I would gladly see him punished to the fullest extent if he was at fault. How do we know if his job had him actually dropping in regularly or not? How do we know he had not already repeatedly reported concerns to his superiors? I don't see why it would be wrong to at least investigate before we start crucifying. I have never had a problem with severely punishing people who commit crimes but I do like to make sure we get the right person and not just a scapegoat. I also never stated that we couldn't both punish those responsible and correct the system. I simply pointed out that in the rush to hang the case worker we should not overlook systemic problems that could have lead to this or the situation will repeat itself.
I was not there and to the best of my knowledge neither were you. Yes I suspect that the case worker was criminally negligent but again why not see what the inquiry uncovers?
I would be glad to burn the foster mother alive and likewise to anyone in CAS who was aware/suspicious of this and did nothing. Unfortunately witch hunts that grab the most convenient scapegoat tend to produce a "cover your ass" culture which can actually be counterproductive in situations like this.
My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.
