Don't know what to say http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6548337.stm I think we're fighting a losing battle. Reminds me of another war...>Police said they believed a suicide bomber was involved. Twenty-three people were injured in the attack.

"The cafe, in Baghdad's highly fortified Green Zone, is for MPs and their staff, some of whom were having lunch there."

Earlier, a bomb on a bridge in Baghdad killed at least eight people and sent several cars into the River Tigris.

>WARNING, WARNING Will Robinson, cherry picking in progress

Exactly. A more accurate article would have stated that over 50 people in the cafeteria were NOT killed, and over 20 people weren't even injured while they enjoyed a leisurely lunch in the Green Zone's most exciting cafe. And did they mention that the Cafe was offering a new flavor of Starbucks coffee? NO! Did they mention that several other cafes in Baghdad were NOT blown up? NO! They insist on just reporting on attacks and death, instead of more important (and much more cheerful) news like the new coffee flavor.

The city is spelled "Baghdad", with an "h". I just got you straightened out on how to spell Iraq, and then now you've gone and done it again with another word.

So how would akarunway stop suicide bombers?

Oh my, you seem to have a problem controlling your emotions. There's no need to shout.

It's very sweet of you to care so much about their plight. Thank you for your altruism.

Have you heard that if America were to pull out prematurely, that one million Iraqiis would die in the violence that would follow? Do you care at all about that?

Someone who can't even spell the names of these places correctly certainly can't be an expert on them. And someone who speaks so emotionally, can't be objective. So I'm afraid that I'm not going to be able to give much serious consideration to your arguments.

P.S.

The word "Wouldnt" should contain an apostrophe, as should also "Fuckin" and "em". And "mothers" should not be plural. If you're going to curse, the least you could do is curse correctly.

I heard that if we pulled out tomorrow, peace would result, since the #1 target of the terrorists (and of the Iraqis) would be gone.

The idea "peace will come if we create a big enough war" makes no logical sense, but has a nice Orwellian ring to it. Even our best military leaders have admitted that there is no way to win militarily in Iraq; I hope our civilian leaders start to listen to them.

The emotion thing? perhaps. Some emotion is good. Overbearing emotion in an argument is bad.

But the spelling thing? Well, that is just stupid. Spelling is not a sign of intelligence. Or perhaps you are just antagonizing him and make him mad thus giving you a reason to discredit him?

That seems like a pretty good SC tactic to me.

Rob away!
Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

>Their targets are mostly their fellow Iraqi citizens.

Nope, sorry. Their targets are the US. Look at how many people attended the anti-US rally held last week. The insurgents will destroy anyone and anything they can to get to us. Since we are generally much better armored (and much better at defending ourselves) than Iraqis, they end up killing far more Iraqis than US soldiers.

Look at the pattern of attacks. One US soldier killed by a bomb, 36 Iraqis killed in a roadside attack. Two US soldiers killed by snipers, 18 Iraqi police officers killed. If US soldiers hung around crowded markets without protection or armor, and Iraqis got body armor and started maintaining military security, then those numbers would very rapidly reverse.

>So you want all the peaceful Muslims to abandon their country, and just
>let the terrorists take over?

Nope. I want the peaceful Muslims to live their lives as they have for thousands of years. The more militant Muslims on our side have already formed police and army squads; the pro-Bush supporters have been singing their praises for three years now. They are better equipped to handle the remaining terrorists than we are. Time to start putting your money where your mouth is and trust the troops you've been praising.

No, I think you are wrong. they can't beat our military. They are smart enough to to know that. But they know the libs and the media in this country can beat our military (from their perspective). So it apears to me you (and the media) are playing right into their hands
