Bagdad security sure has tightened

>So it apears to me you (and the media) are playing right into their hands.

Yes, I am playing right into the hands of the Iraqi people. Remember those massive protests a few days ago? They weren't there to support the US. They were there to get them the hell out. Those protesters - those Iraqis using their new freedoms - were the ones chanting "death to america."

On the other hand, this war has been a godsend to Al Qaeda. Our own intelligence agencies are reporting they are growing stronger. They can now penetrate our best military defenses. They are learning all about how the US military operates, and are learning how to work around it. We are helping them grow into a better, stronger Al Qaeda

So prolong the war and help Al Qaeda, or listen to what the Iraqis want. Who do you want to help - the Iraqi people or Al Qaeda?

No, you are helping Al Qaeda. Cherry picking media events does not make your case

No, I think you are wrong. they can't beat our military.

They don't have to beat the military. Fomr the beginning the American leadership has been unable to put together a plan, any plan. (other than maybe enriching some entities)

Blah blah blah. Same old bash Bush talking point. blah blah blah.....

Not Bush, all of them at the top really. If there was a plan, was this all part of it, or did it fail?

Or, you really think it is the liberals' and the media's fault that the invasion resulted in a clusterfuck?

Perhaps if all the right wing supporters of this war would sign up and go over there..... we could actually win this thing... we certainly have not tried that yet......you support the war......you go to war.....very simple solution.

Uh, Rush, when reporting on the first-ever Al Qaeda attack inside the Green Zone is "cherry picking" the news - your cause is lost.

Since many people here like pictures, I'll post two pictures. The first is the massive crowd the right wing media was talking about for weeks, celebrating the tearing down of Saddam's statue. The second is the recent anti-US rally. Draw your own conclusions over who is "cherry picking" here.

Did you come up with that all by yourself?

One out of how many stories makes you right.

Ok, I get it

>One out of how many stories makes you right.

It doesn't. But a few hundred reports that agree (many from US troops and the Iraqi government) might suggest that there are actually problems in Iraq, and that it's not all new schools, flower-throwing liberated Iraqis and happy oil executives - despite what the right wing press would have you believe.

So we could solve those problems. Or you can just clap louder.

But the spelling thing? Well, that is just stupid. Spelling is not a sign of intelligence.

So reading and writing correctly hold no significance in how others look at you?

It's pretty obvious by the state of our educational system.

It can, depending on the situation. But I am guessing (and maybe I am wrong), that the spelling of Baghdad was a simple mistake and not a sign of stupidity. It is about context. Nor does the spelling of Baghdad have ANYTHING to do with the FACT that a bomb went off in the green zone.

Pointing out such things in order to deflect having to respond to the CONTENT of a post is SOP around here though.

And why I love it.
Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Depends on the parser. The one my son wrote for MS automatically handles the order.

Unfortunately, the parser in this forum's software kills html special characters, so no further (more clever) interpretation was possible.

I was being a smart-ass, but I do agree with what I think was your original point. Correcting someone's spelling of a proper name that didn't originate in the language in question is pretty silly. I'd equate it to complaints about someone misspelling an onomatopoeia.

I see some here who claim to be 'degreed', spend hours posting, and can't even proof read enough to properly spell the word ' the'.

Hell, I barely graduated high school.

lol, don't you know Royd, that it does not matter with many that even though it makes more sense to at least try to spell correctly in order to give the impression that you understand all the words you are writing.

It does not matter that the writings of this guy are very comparable to my 7 year old daughter who is fluent in 2 languages, and hers definitely comes on top. He gets a free pass to continuosly proving that it is very difficult to click on the "check spelling option".:|

Nevertheless, apparently Billvon has spoke to many Iraqies lately, or at least gives that impression. While we are here, taken care of business, at times we think going back home people are just going to spit on your faces, sad indeed. There is no magic solution, but closing the borders will be one of them, as so be the sumarized execution of Iranies that are operating in here. Billvon surprisingly ignores that most killings occurring now in here are civilians, and due to mostly sectarian violence....but what would I know..right?

Thanks Remi. You did it for me. Spelling is one thing. Grammar is another ball game.

I hope to God it was intentional.

Laughing my ass off. Should we all have a spelling bee to see who's the smartest. I type fast and drunk half the time. Thanks for those in my support and FUCK THE REST:P Spell check. Fuck that. And I do know how to use it. Proof read. Fuck that. No time for it

Perhaps if you read my posts before replying, you will be less suprised in the future. (Hint - check out the part that says "they end up killing far more Iraqis than US soldiers.")

Well, like I said, you have to read _before_ replying.
