A Huge Dropzone Cheap jumps But very Far

Recommended Posts

Hi

I heard about a project of a DZ in Tanzania,
The aim is apparently to bring people to jump with a new way :

The jumpers Pays a ticket that includes:

Flying ticket + 1 ( or 2 or ............10 weeks) As many jumps as the jumpers can do .

I was worried about the planes they would use ( It is not decided yet for 100% but for 60% lol) A casa and A twin .

What do you think about this and Have you heard anything about this project
Do it with a twinckle in the eyes

I am the operations manager for Skydive Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, we are a small tandem DZ but getting busier. We will expect to be a turbine dz within a year or two at the rate we are growing but what you say is not true, if indeed it is Tanzania you are talking about. we are the only full time DZ in East Africa! Our sister company is Serengeti balloon safaris and they have been around for 15 years, we have very close ties with the TCAA. There is no way such a project would be underway without us knowing about it.

I would welcome such a project with open arms but unfortunately you are mistaken.

Back in the late '80's Mike Mullins used to have all-you-can-jump events at his DZ in TN. IIRC the price was $100, but I don't recall if that was for one day, or two. He was flying the Helio Stallion when I attended one of those weekends. That is still the only jump plane I've ever seen do a vertical landing. (Hint: It was windy as hell that day).
