Trouble within Iran

Recommended Posts

News:
"At least 12 petrol stations have been torched in the Iranian capital, Tehran, after the government announced fuel rationing for private vehicles.

Windows were smashed and stones thrown at the stations, and there was traffic chaos as motorists queued to buy fuel.

Iranians were given only two hours' notice of the move that limits private drivers to 100 litres of fuel a month.

Despite its huge energy reserves, Iran lacks refining capacity and it imports about 40% of its petrol.

The country has a large budget deficit largely caused by fuel subsidies and the inflation rate is estimated at 20-30%."

Isn't that the best way for change to occurs when needed?

That would be the right way for things to happen.

From everything i have heard things have been bad and getting worst for the last few months.

All I can hope for is minimum blood shed. Which in case of a revolution will mean the Military must join the people and not the government.

If the neo-cons want to start another war(with Iran this time), it will make the Iranians rally around the most extremist & most militant leaders.

Bush & Co. leave office in 1 2/3 years. Let's hope we can hang in there until then without anymore international blundering.

You’re right. If The US would invade it would make the people fight for there home. Iranians traditionally have strong pride and would make a deal with the devil to not become another occupied land.

Aw, BS.

The only place you're seeing that is in the media, not in the Pentagon and certainly not in the White House.

The mullahs only WISH that would happen...but it won't.

Of course they would. That's why you're only reading about a so-called invasion of Iran in the media, and nowhere else.

But is it the media's fault that they repeat the calls for war made by our public officials? Sometimes the saber rattling is actually done on the deck of one of nine US ships just off the coast of Iran. I could see how some people might get the impression that the administration was considering it.

From the looks of this story, it looks like we only need to sneak someone in there to sabotage their one and only gasoline refinery, and then things will go to hell in a handbasket real quick.

And isn't it ironic that when faced with gas shortages, they respond by setting fire to... gas stations. Thereby, compounding their own problem!
