Rookie120 0 #4 July 4, 2007 Sweet! LOL I wonder what the cop said after the kid told him his dal was Alo Gore. I also had no idea the Prius could do 100mph.If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

AndyMan 7 #6 July 5, 2007 My Hybrid Highlander is limited to 112. It's odd that they'd pick a different number. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

NCclimber 0 #9 July 5, 2007 Anyone else think it's weird that the cars make, model and "green-ness" are brought up in the opening sentence, in most of the mainstream media articles?

billvon 3,076 #11 July 5, 2007 > What impact to the batteries have on the environment when disposed of? They're recycled. If they're thrown in a landfill, the primary pollutant is nickel, which isn't too bad. A standard car's lead acid battery is a much worse thing to put in a landfill. (The Prius has one of those as well, but it's tiny, the size of a motorcycle battery.) Still odd that the story is prefaced by the green-ness of the car. Sorta like reporting on a story on the Enron scandal with the headline "Ford Excursion driving Ken Lay arraigned on fraud charges."

idrankwhat 0 #16 July 5, 2007 Quote Still odd that the story is prefaced by the green-ness of the car. Especially since they didn't take advantage of the opportunity to point out that it's not environmentally friendly at those speeds. 100mph has got to knock the mpg down to at least 30. Can you check it out on the way home and get back to us Bill?
