Pick Your Candidate

Recommended Posts

Points, and what we disagree on apparently (my view in parentheses):

Paul 55
Net Neutrality (I support), Same-Sex Marriage (I support. If we can ruin our lives, why can't they?)

Kucinich 36
No Child Left Behind (not everyone is cut out for college, or even for graduating high school. It sucks, but that's how it works.), ANWR Drilling (it's there, use it), Assault Weapons Ban (Governments get out of control, and citizens may need to fix things. Pitchforks aren't the tool of choice for that.), Guns - Background Checks (see AWB), Citizenship Path for Illegals (Sorry, but breaking the law shouldn't be rewarded), Universal Healthcare (Nice in theory, I hate it in practice)

Gravel 34
Citizenship Path for Illegals, Border Fence (Border security isn't a bad thing), Universal Healthcare

Obama 9
ANWR Drilling, Assault Weapons Ban, Guns - Background Checks, Patriot Act (it's wrong wrong wrong wrong for that act to exist), Citizenship Path for Illegals, Iran Sanctions (They have as much right to nuclear energy as we do.), Same-Sex Marriage, Universal Healthcare

Biden 9
Death Penalty (If the state executes one innocent person, the state becomes a murdered), No Child Left Behind, ANWR Drilling, Assault Weapons Ban, Guns - Background Checks, Patriot Act, Citizenship Path for Illegals, Iran Sanctions, Same-Sex Marriage

Dodd 5
Death Penalty, No Child Left Behind, ANWR Drilling, Assault Weapons Ban, Guns - Background Checks, Patriot Act, Citizenship Path for Illegals, Iran Sanctions, Iran - Military Action (see sanctions. We have no right to tell them what to do)

Brownback 2
No Child Left Behind, Patriot Act, Guantanamo (Being held without trial is not cool), Citizenship Path for Illegals, Net Neutrality, Iraq War, Same-Sex Marriage, Same-Sex Civil Union, Same-Sex Constitutional Ban (there is no need for the fedgov to be involved with this)

Thompson 0
Clinton 0
Richardson -1
Edwards -2
Cox -8
McCain -15
Huckabee -17
Tancredo -24
Giuliani -32
Hunter -34
Romney -39

So this is worthless, each item is just an issue, but a position on the issue - example

"Embyonic Stem Cells" Does that mean support government funded research, does that mean support privately funded research, does that mean support banning it outright, does that mean support banning just tax payer funding, etc

though the level "meh" is pretty accurate for me on most of them

Yeah, I wondered that as well. I support private funding of it, but I'm not really big on the idea of fedgov pissing more money away until the budget is under control and the deficit is fixed.

Your score is almost identical to mine. The only thing I noticed was that I had Gravel and Paul swapped in position.

Same-Sex Marriage (I support. If we can ruin our lives, why can't they?)

That is very similar to something I saw Tom Arnold say on a late night talk show:
Quote

I'm all for same-sex marriage. If we have to get married, then they have to get married. They've been getting a free ride way too long!
