pajarito 0 #101 August 7, 2007 Quote1. Love God 2. Don’t worship something to suit yourself 3. Don’t take His name in vain 4. Remember the Sabbath Why?Quote Firstly, because the God who gave you life said to. Secondly, because you are selfish by nature and fall way short of the standard set by the God who gave you life. The wages of sin is death. Thirdly, the only good (in God's eyes) which could possibly ever come from you would be because of His Holy Spirit in you and not of yourself. No one can meet the standard of the Moral law. The purpose of it is NOT to show you how to live. The purpose of it is to point you to the cross. Quote5. Honor your parents Should we honor our parents regardless if they are honorable? Yes. Protecting yourself or others from danger, however, would be a different circumstance. Quote10. Don’t desire what belongs to another QuoteWhy? (Is it wrong to desire the relationship another has with God?) Depends on the motive. If you desire the relationship another has with God because you want peace, love, joy, fulfillment, long-lasting happiness, contentment, or something else for yourself, then YES. If you desire the relationship another has with God because you realize you've offended God with your lawlessness, are very sorry for it, and are willing to trust in Jesus (alone) to "recieve" His forgiveness, then NO. It was intelligent, your belief was admirable in that it was yours and wasn't all cliche'd. Now you just sound like a cult member. what happened? It just seems like a friend went from a truly righteous man, to more of a cliched 'self righteous' man. ... pajarito 0 #115 August 7, 2007 QuoteSo if I kill, steal and cheat, but I trust in the finished work of the cross of Jesus Christ - I am saved, right? If you'd sincerely trusted in the finished work of Jesus at the cross, you wouldn't kill, steal, or cheat. If God had transformed you into a "new creature in Christ" and was growing you in holiness (e.g. born again), you wouldn't do those things. You're not saved because you’re a good person or for anything you've done. You're saved because you're a very bad person who's been forgiven. Being truly sorry and repentant for your lawlessness does not mean that you continue to live in a lifestyle of sin. Being sorry is evidenced by a change in direction (a “good” work being done in you).

I am asking you to explain why you accept a God that created you unable to do good but able to do bad, why you accept a God that created you unable to meet the standard of moral law of your God, etc... The truth of the Bible is what I am defending. How can I do that without quoting it? QuoteFor if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
