birdshit 0 #1 September 7, 2007 Well, it is true. I got AIDS. Altitude Induced Divorce Syndrome. I dont know... Maybe she was just tired of my shit. Haha.. I did drop a grand or two on skydiving instead of paying the mortgage and I think that was the last straw... that really pissed her off to no end. But at least it has been quieter around the house lately... LOL I was a little bummed about her leaving me so I go to the doc to get some drugs or something without really doing any research or anything. Now keep in mind, I wasnt WAY depressed just a little melancholy over the divorce. The doc gives me Lexapro like it was no big deal. I kinda wanted Xanax or some godd old fashioned valium, you know, something to chill me out so my heart wasn't broken when I get served with papers.. Just to warn the rest of you... Lexapro is evil stuff. It isn't something you can just stop taking whenever you want. There are serious side effects and withdrawl can make you sick. It can also make you lose track of time and have serious brain farts. I thought I might just post a warning out here because losing track of time or having a distorted sense of time might be ok for the average joe, but for us it can be a killer. 10 seconds is LONG TIME in freefall. before you take lexapro(or quit taking it), be aware of the side effects, and also be aware of the side effects of stopping it suddenly. this stuff messes with your brain chemistry. I have been wracked for a few days now and I am finally starting to feel better. I am deliberately halfing my dose and I will go for a week and half it again to where I am taking 1/4 of the original dose. Then I am going to quit this evil medicine. Yuk! Blue Skies and see you up there http://wiki.answers.com/Q/After_stopping_Lexapro_how_long_do_the_withdrawal_symptoms_last

I hope your next 4 jumps are less expensive......
birdshit 0 #3 September 7, 2007 AFF Levels 1-7 i should say. I had to start at AFF Level 1 because I did my jumps and was working my way through my A in Skydive AZ but I moved to dallas and the weight requirement was 210, presumably because they use different gear that is only rated for the lower weight than Skydive Arizona. I weighed 235 do my jumping career has been on hold forever it feels like. I weigh 209 now and I am going jumping. Not just jumps but instructors jumping with me so I can get my A. I also bought a helmet ($150), a protrack audible/logbook ($250) and when I am gonna buy another alti (I can't find my old one). They are about $175 I think in the gearshop. Plus about $1100 in the jumps themselves, so ~$1675.00 Yes, they get cheaper after the first 7. Thank god... LOL

Rookie120 0 #5 September 7, 2007 WOW. Sorry to hear about that. I guess you couldnt find the fine balance with the marriage and jumpin also. I have slowed my jumpin before I got married. But I think I have my balance now of jumping and my wife. I like to jump but I love my wife. I would give that up before I gave her up. Best of luck to you. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
