Still more child abuse by Christians

Recommended Posts

Oh Christ (pun intended), here goes the Cathoic clergy with more of their "prayers for healing" bullshit. Healing what, their wallet ?

It's not even so much the individuals who commit the crimes as much as the orchestrated coverup by the church hierarchy that is criminal. Sexual abuse flourishes among all the professions; clergy of all denominations, therapists, doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc. Etc. But what is really sickening is the way the Catholic Church repeatedly stonewalls investigations, shuffles priests around, refuses to turn over personnel files without a leagal fight, tries to bail out through bankruptcy. Ten, worst of all is the social pressure they put on these children's families to keep their mouths shut, while Father Buttfuck goes his merry way.

If it were anyone else but the Roman Catholic Church, any prosecutor who took his oath of office seriously would bring a RICOH prosecution against the church for harboring felons. And the only reason they won't do it is purely because of political pressure.

This goes all the way back back to medieval days, when clerics could only be tried by church courts. It was one of the reasons for the Protestant Reformation in Europe and the seperation of chhurch and state in America.

And until a few Cardinals get sent to PRISON for life, it will go on and on and on.....

Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

As a Catholic, this makes me just as sick as the rest of you.>:(

Understand this: Any clergy or their hierarchy who are involved directly or indirectly with the abuse of anyone are NOT following the TRUE teachings of the Catholic Church. Simply put, they are criminals and should be treated as such.

Much like Al-Queda and Muslims, yet people label all Muslims; why should the same not be the case for catholics?

I'm a Christian, not a Catholic.

Specifically a Lutheran, which, if you understand the history (and I assume you do just based on your intellect), you know that makes me not the best friend of the Catholic church.

You're broad and very prejudiced statement is not the level of specificity I would have expected.

I expect better from you.

I expect better from the many posters who tar all muslims with the same brush.

This is indeed a horrific crime. But is has nothing to do with Christianity. The Bible warns us "Certain people will creep in among you unnoticed. Ungodly people marked for condemnation who turn the Grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our Lord Jesus Christ. These men revile the things which they do not understand and the things which they know by instinct like unreasoning animals, by these things they will be destroyed" Jude
The Bible also warns of the fools who say in their hearts " There is no God"

Yes it has. The person involved is a Christian. Shame on him and the whole of Christianity. I suggest we start a hate campaign against all Christians by portraying their whole faith to be the same as the guy in this article. Then when the whole world is sufficiently against Christianity because we have successfully painted the picture of the entire Christian faith based on this (or a few) christian paedo's, we go in and bomb the Vatican and pinch its oil, er I mean relics. I meant relics...not oil.

Of course it does. These pedophiles are officials in the largest Christian denomination.

I don't think all Catholics are at risk of being painted with this broad brush, but I do think Catholic priests are - and to a lesser degree, nuns, too.

As long as being a priest or nun formally requires celibacy, then the people who are attracted to those vocations will include a higher proportion than the population at large of people who are socially or sexually maladjusted, or just plain weird.

So it's okay to use dishonest, small-minded tactics that you condemn by others, if your target meets certain criteria???

Seems like blatant hypocrisy to me.

I think he is making the point and you and the others who are claiming hypocrisy or crying unfair should go back and look at some of your statements that have been made about Muslims.

I have noticed a fundamental difference between the people I agree with and the people I disagree with.

The people I agree with (for the most part) usually tend to apply the same rule and same standards to all humans and the people I disagree with tend to apply different standards depending on the sense of camaraderie they feel to the subject or persons being discussed.

That is hypocrisy and this thread is just to point that out to all of you.

Perhaps you could cite some (any) of my statements about Muslims that you are talking about.

If you say so. :S It seems more like people are using the "all Muslims are bad" stereotypes made by a few people to justify their own hypocrisy.

Well last week I think there was 2-3 threads maybe more just about the name Mohammed.

The ignorance gets very old fast. I am sure you understand that this thread was not really made to say all Christians are child molesters but to point out you should not link a few bad apples to all.

Again I can’t speak for the maker of this thread but from his pervious posts history I am sure that was his intention.

So the difference here would be this: I know what this thread was made for. The sad part is the ones making threads about the name Mohammed are not doing it to prove this point, but that they actually think they have a relevant fact even if it is one of the top names in the world.

Off course that’s not the only example but one of the most recent ones.

That depends on who's posting it.

Your contention I would believe if you posted it as you are pretty consistent in standing by your heritage and most of your comments come back to that eventually regardless of the thread intent. Or Billvon posted it - he's been on that tangent quite a bit lately - sometimes shoehorning it in in very convoluted fashion. I might even, but I'd be more obtuse about it.

But Kallend posted it, so I'm sure it was just a jab at religion in general (and then this tangent was more entertaining, so he encouraged that route). As I'd assume if it were a handful of others. Though those that I'm thinking of would directly try to guide it back to the whole 'religion is evil' thing. Kallend has more fun than that.

So that's what it's about. I thought it was just another attempt to demean the Catholic Church.

I think my take (above) is a little closer to the truth.

Maybe he was thinking about statements like:

Because the words "muslim" and "terrorist" are all but synonymous in today's world.

And I didn't even have to read the story to know that one of them was named "Mohammed" - big surprise there.

My point is that pretty much any time I speak to a muslim, while they don't say it overtly, the impression I am usually left with is that they see islamic terrorism against the west as being somehow justified.

I guess that all of you liberal fuckers don't realize that the Muslims are engaged in A HOLY WAR to take over the world.

For starters, Muslim is a gutter religion, opposed to all our values. Please don't tell me there are "moderate, peace loving" Muslims either. If there were, they would be ratting out their co-religionists who are supposedly giving their religion a bad name... The Muslims have already started it. So the deal is simple; either they can knock it the fuck off, or we can simply destroy their religion, period..

Well looky there...

You quote a post specifically about my making derogatory statements regarding Muslims... then you quote a bunch anti-Muslim tripe...

and then...

in what seems like an after-thought...

you add "none of them are from you".

How subtle. :S

What don't you understand about the word "others"?
