verry verry verry wrong, Also fast moving programs cause attention issues in children due to the constant changes.

My kids get 1 hour a day to watch T.V. right now 7 and 4. I kick them out of the house and let them play learn get dirty and be active out side. Rain and winter is no difference and they love it. A T.V. is no place for a child. and out doors in most places is no more dangerous then when I grew up.
SO this one time at band camp.....

.

I wonder if there have been any correlation studies linking the proliferation of ADD to Sesame Street or Zoom ratings?

That thinks BabyFirst TV is just plain wrong?

Like a gun, such a TV program itself cannot be "right" or "wrong". Like a gun, it could be used for good, or for bad. If the parens allow their children to watch TV 24/7 this means the parents are wrong, not some TV channel.

I do. Very wrong. Read to them and interact with them as much as you possibly can and start doing that right away. They pick up more than you think they do. Try to avoid TV for the first two years but when you absolutely have to have a few minutes to do something like take a shower, I suggest public television and IMAX films. That did wonders for our first. Our second is not as interested in books and doesn't gravitate towards TV if it is on. But he's diggin' the piano so......

This report was done over a year ago, almost two

"The pediatrics group recommends no TV or other electronic media for kids younger than 2 — advice that just 26 percent of parents followed, Kaiser found — and no more than two hours of total "screen time" daily for older children.

The organization is not anti-TV, said Dr. Daniel Broughton of the Mayo Clinic, who co-wrote the academy's recommendations. But before age 2 is time of the brain's most rapid development, and interaction — live give-and-take that TV cannot provide — is crucial during that period, he said.

Some studies also link TV watching at younger ages to attention disorders. "

basically, if you enter "kids watch too much tv" into any search engine, you will come up with pages upon pages of research and studies proving that TV, regardless of whether or not it is educational, is not recommended for kids under 2.

I still think the responsibility lies with the parents, but I agree that the channel itself is a bad idea, and gives parents an excuse.
