warpedskydiver 0 #51 September 28, 2007 I love that stock, looks like a custom model 70 or something. The straight pistol grip and straight comb with high cheek rest is what I like. Rainbo and I may have to "test fire" our friends giftYou know, just to make sure we get only one hole from ten rounds at 50yardsThe Talon SS had no scope that was extra, but luckily one of the principals of that company is "one of the boys" and our team mate arranged to ship a free 4-16x50mm AO EFR scope w/MilDOT including what looks like a set of Badger rings. Tonto 1 #52 September 28, 2007 If you liked the Talon SS, give the Condor a go.. The stock on the S200 is an ambi, but works well. Serious comp target heritage though.(I shoot Left and have a Left Walnut coming for the 400S) If you like wood... http://www.ginb.it/prodotti_list.php?lang=en&mar=2&mod=3 http://www.woodsandwateroutdoors.com/AirArms.htm If you like synthetic... http://www.staffs-synthetic-stocks.com/guns.shtml These things have come a long way since I was a kid. t It's the year of the Pig. I knew he would want the higher velocity offered by the Condor, so we had it set up that way. Amazing what a few inches of bbl and higher pressure can achieve. warpedskydiver 0 #54 September 28, 2007 AIR ARMS S410/400 MR1 TACTICAL THEOBEN RAPID 7 MK1 AND MARK 2 those are the two I prefer.
warpedskydiver 0 #55 September 28, 2007 No shit they came a long way, I guess the one my dad built me when I was a kid looked like some outer space thing back then, now it would look more sedate. It had a backpack tank, and braided steel hose to supply the compressed air. The stock was a hand carved chunk of maple, that started off as a 4x4 post 24" long I wish my older brother had not sold it on me. He did that with my schwinn fastback as well
Tonto 1 #56 September 28, 2007 AIR ARMS S410/400 MR1 TACTICAL would certainly be on my list, but starting at 200 GBP, I'd rather spend the money on something that actually shoots. Some advice on the condor. Get a chrony, fill the gun and shoot from full to empty, writing down the velocities and remaining pressure on each shot. Look for the most consistant part of the string and only fill to there. The Air Force rifles are technically inferior, but there are a LOT of things you can do with them. Some can get up to 60 ftlbs. They're known as "Stealth" in the UK.(Hi John!) Check out this site if you want to max yours out. http://www.stealthresource.org/ tIt's the year of the Pig.
