I can see it now, "Through the Looking Glass" - a daily commentary on world affairs by Marc Rush.

Hmmm .... how about the Rushmc & Kallend nightly radio commentary on politics, culture, and skydiving? B|B|B|

You could even do a round table inviting other regulars to speak?

I would definitely listen in! :)

Don't you worry none. FOX news and the Washington Times aren't going away anytime soon. So you can sleep well in the knowledge that you can get news that fits your individual bias any time you want it.

Good thing all the rest are out there to fit YOUR bias, eh?

Cool! I can think of a lot more toys (of non-carnal nature for those whose minds immediately go to the wantonly visceral :P) that would be more interesting to bring along than my BASE rig.B|

Well, defining the center is an imprecise science.

If you really believe in capitalism you would believe that the market finds the center. It's hard for me to believe that all those rich media moguls are deliberately skewing their news programming to the left of center - where's the profit in that?

So I suggest that in a free market economy with freedom of the press, the media naturally cluster around the center of public opinion.

And if the media are less favorable to the GOP than to the DEMS, maybe it's because the GOP is out of touch with the center.

Except the mainstream media is on a downward death spiral because they are out of touch while Fox News continues to prosper.

Does Fox News being an internet and cable media-only play any role in Fox News’ asserted prosperity?

Are not traditional print newspapers, including ones like The Washington Times and the Wall Street Journal, feeling the biggest impact in the form of drop in print circulation, even while making substantial profits just not the high margin of profits that’s desired by shareholders?

You've still not shown that the "moguls" control the content put forth - just made allegations to it.

My claim was that THE MARKET controls the content and effectively defines "the center".

It wouldn't work. Radio talking heads tend to be very specific on where they stand on a given subject. Expecting listeners to infer what you may have meant won't cut it.

Well, what did you expect? If "libs" hate right wing media for being angry, rude and deliberately misinformative, what makes you think that they'll like it any more if it comes from the left? All the "libs" I know would rather have their news be accurate, delivered respectfully, and unmolested by market forces. I know, we're kooky that way.;)

You can still find two out of three. Sadly, market forces are creeping in more than I'd like. When I drive home listening to "all things considered" and they open with a story on Britney Spears, I'll consider civilization FUBAR.

I think it is more of bitch session vs ideas, lies vs truth. And know people do not like to listen to Air America's mis-informant

With some careful choice of your sources, yes...and agreed in general on "market forces".
