rushmc 23 #3 November 9, 2007 I looked at the title and I thought you were talking about your common senseBut, after reading it (you read Fox News??) I think Sandy Burger must be going there "America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Amazon 7 #6 November 9, 2007 Hmmm so I suppose all the documents that might shed some light on the Ollie North and friends in the Iran Contra Scandal just went poof... I wonder what Vinnie will have to say about this one.
warpedskydiver 0 #7 November 9, 2007 When you kick the bucket ask Reagan all about it, he may answer you, or just treat you like cordwood. And you bitch about people rehashing the Klinton presedency, well at least there is a reason we talk about it. Hitlery is running for POTUS. Is Ollie North running for office? Did he not do the job asked of him? Did he fail to do whatever was neccessary to protect our country? Did he fail his commission as a USMC officer? Did he fail his oath as NSA? BTW you can always look him up and give him a piece of your mind in person.Reagan is dead and cannot speak for himself BTW
Andy9o8 2 #8 November 9, 2007 Ooh, this will be fun. When you kick the bucket ask Reagan all about it, he may answer you, or just treat you like cordwood. When he was alive (even pre-dementia) he had the intellect of the dead. I don't think that's improved since his death. Unless there is a Heaven, and the Wizard gave Scarecrow a brain. And you bitch about people rehashing the Klinton presedency, well at least there is a reason we talk about it. Hitlery is running for POTUS. Clinton with a K for no other reason than...it's not a C. And invoking Hitler with Hillary. We surrender - you've persuaded us. Is Ollie North running for office? Ollie keeps himself a public figure thanks to his Fox News gigs. So he's fair grist for the mill. He can suck it up. But I will give him credit and props (seriously) for being a good expert witness in a number of anti-terrorism lawsuits. Did he not do the job asked of him? In the White House? No. He committed felonies under color of his office. His convictions by a jury in a court of law for felonies were overturned on appeal on strictly technical grounds, not on the substance of the evidence. Yes, that makes him legally not guilty. But that doesn't mean he didn't commit the felonious acts; just that the govt screwed up the prosecution. Did he fail to do whatever was neccessary to protect our country? You don't protect the country by abusing high office to commit felonies. Did he fail his commission as a USMC officer? Depends on whether he was subject to the UCMJ while on the White House staff. If so, then yes, for committing felonies. My Dad is an ex-Marine NCO, and damned proud of it. He's pretty conservative on national security. I remember when Ollie was first convicted, my Dad said he had embarrassed the Corps. Did he fail his oath as NSA? It was the NSC. If he took an oath, then yes, he failed it. See above. BTW you can always look him up and give him a piece of your mind in person. I've met him. Not surprisingly, he's a very impressive guy. No, I behaved myself. Reagan is dead and cannot speak for himself BTW See above re: intellect. Anyhow, JFK's a dead president, too, and he's fair game, so Ray-Gun is, too. (Doh!! I pulled a "Klinton"!) I suppose after Ted Kennedy's dead you'll give him a pass, right?
