So you are saying that for reasons of vanity he allowed the top terrorist in the world who posed the greatest threat to the U.S., who was behind the first WTC bombing, to go free because he was worried about what Republicans would "think" of him? Heck, the Republican already hated him. How much worse could it have been?

Perhaps. But I would trade his re-election if it meant 9/11 would never have happened. But one thing we know for sure is that the WTC would still be standing and there's apretty good chance we wouldn't be in Iraq right now.
And all of this occured because Bill Clinton was worried about what people would think of him.

Are you saying the bin laden did not have anything to do with 9/11? I mean, you seem to indicate that if he was killed (regardless of what country he and the muderers were from,) 9/11 would have still happened?

O.K. have it your way. Clinton was so flawed, vain and neurotic that he let what people would think of him dictate his decision whether to take out the most dangerous terrorist in the world. The same man responsible for the first WTC attack was let go 8 to 10 times because Clinton couldn't handle the political pressure. Not defending Mr Blow job... just pointing out the POLITICAL REality of those times... I said OBL was the threat to the USA. Never mentioned Iraq except to say that if 9/11 had never occured, we wouldn't be there today. I understand the compelling obssessive desire to spin this into something you can get into Bush-Bash mode with but you have to admit the world would be a much better place if our vain, narcissistic ex President had done what needed to be done. Do you know what the #1 job of the President of the U.S. is? Would you say based on what we know, that he performed that job by allowing a terrorist who had already attempted to blow up the WTC to escape 10 times because of what people would think of him? Do you consider such a person a leader?

How many American, Afghans, Iraqi's, Pakistanis, Brits, French etc. were in the WTC? How many Iraqi would still be alive if Clinton had pulled the trigger on OBL?
