Gravitymaster 0 #4 December 5, 2007 It was pretty obvious to me that the whole clip was a joke from the very beginning. When was the last time Colbert did a serious interview? Good thing the You Tube clip helped point out the obvious to those who didn't get it was a put on joke much like SNL. I guess some people just need more splainin. Or haven't ground that ax enough, yet.

Darius11 12 #7 December 5, 2007 Fox news is not a comedy channel although their credibility should be the same. What they tried to do was show the person in the worst possible light, and I am willing to bet that if it were a republican you would not have the same editing done. Again I am not saying other net works do not edit interviews to follow what they want to show, but all in all it is pretty sad that we cannot trust a single news organization. However I do believe IMHO that fox news is so over the top in their way of covering the news that they get the most attention.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Darius11 12 #9 December 5, 2007 Well I am not going to disagree with you, but is there any thing similar to what I posted or other videos that have been posted about CNN? It seems most of the misleading that is done by fox news gets attention and is easily proven not to be Fair and balanced. Why do we not see the same attention on the other news networks if they are being just as misleading?I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

All networks do stories like this all the time and this isn't the first time one of Colberts spoofs has made it onto network news. QuoteAgain I am not saying other net works do not edit interviews to follow what they want to show, but all in all it is pretty sad that we cannot trust a single news organization. However I do believe IMHO that fox news is so over the top in their way of covering the news that they get the most attention. All networks edit their news stories due to time constraints. This is more about your bias against Fox News and your inability to preceive it as a joke unless some You Tube guy points out the obvious. The editing wasn't done to make it seem like he was really saying he liked cocaine and hooker, it was done to make it fit into a certain time segment. I understood perfectly, from the beginning that it was a Colbert put on. I thought it was pretty funny, too. I have difficulty understanding how anyone could see it as anything more than a joke. Edited to add: Can you tell if this is a real story or a comedy spoof. Think carefully, it is on MSNBC and they seem to be implying somewhat that Colbert is a serious candidate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_li7v8Wr6M . .
