Hillary Clinton, Re: "Misspeaking" about Bosnia Visit

Recommended Posts

Reminds me of Pat Robertson's claim to have won a Siver Star in Korea. Then another guy from his unit spilled the beans that Robertson had called his daddy, a US Senator, from Japan just before the unit shipped out for the war zone. When they left, Robertson was not onboard. He "served" the liquor to his fellow officers in the club back at Japan for the rest of his tour and the only Silver Star he ever handled musta been some exotic brand of vodka.

I'm not a vet, but I despise anyone who falsely claims to have been in combat. It steals from the honors that can only go to those who have been there and served.

Hillary's chopped liver as far as I'm concerned, especially against John McCain's very real record as a "guest" of the Hanoi government.

Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Shut up please
*** WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton wants her husband to quit talking about her trip to Bosnia in 1996, the former president said Friday.

Bill Clinton defended his wife during a stop in Boonville, Indiana Thursday.

"Hillary called me and said, "I misstated it, you said I misstated it, but you got to let me handle it because you don't remember it, either.' ... I said, 'Yes, ma'am,' " Bill Clinton said in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The comments follow those he made in Boonville, Indiana, on Thursday, when he strongly defended his wife over the recent coverage surrounding her 1996 Bosnia trip claims, saying the media acted as if she'd "robbed a bank."

"I got tickled the other day, a lot of the way this whole campaign has been covered has amused me, but there was a lot of fulminating because Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated and immediately apologized for it, what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995. Did y'all see all that? Oh, they blew it up," the former president said at a campaign event.

"You would have thought, you know, that she'd robbed a bank the way they carried on about this," he added. "And some of them, when they're 60, they'll forget something when they're tired at 11 at night, too."

"I have been in the public eye for many, many years, and this is something that I think happens to anybody," Clinton also said of the exaggeration, which served to raise questions anew about her candor.

...raise questions anew about her candor. :o

After she finally gets the press to drop it, Bill brings it back up.

Nice...

Hillary finally tells BC to be quiet after he tells the public that she is:
60.
Grumpy and tired.
Going senile.

He should know. He spends more time with her than almost any of the other women.

I don't think forgetting someone's name (not uncommon in over 60s) is quite in the same league as forgetting whether or not someone was trying to shoot you.

I think that Hillary already tried that spin with the "I misspoke" approach and wanted to drop it.

There are events in my life that are a little fuzzy. I would think that this is a more intense memory than what you would see on vacation. I don't think that I would confuse the two. I don't think she did either.

I have older (90s) relatives who forget names, etc, but they remember what happened at Thanksgiving 6 years ago. They are a little fuzzy on their critical decision skills. I probably wouldn't want them running the country.

If Bill's defense is, "She's just losing it because she is 60", I'll bet she didn't appreciate that remark.

He should have added, "...and she's putting on some tonnage too."
:D
