idrankwhat 0 #151 May 29, 2008 QuoteQuoteat least the dems are having a race between two strong candidates. Definitely a matter of opinion. Both are driving record turnout in the primaries. The party is pretty much split down the middle, could go either way. The race is going down to the wire. Sounds like a strong couple of candidates. happythoughts 0 #152 May 29, 2008 QuoteHey, regardless of what you think about them at least the dems are having a race between two strong candidates. ...between a rock and a hard place. Regardless of his platforms, Obama presents himself with intelligence and character. And then there is Hillary Rottwieller Clinton. Is the woman possessed by Satan or what? It is like an evil spirit controls her body and then spews out weird stuff. Of her last 5 headlines, all 5 were something that her campaign had to disclaim as, "She misspoke". If her brains and/or lips are not being used effectively as a communication tool, it's not a selling point. You know her staff goes in to work and says, "Let's see why psycho-gal made up today". lawrocket 3 #153 June 1, 2008 I mentioned about the Credentials Committee. Well, it looks like it may be what the plan is., Today, the Rules committee decided to seat Florida and Michigan delegates, but ONLY to give them half votes. Hillary, and her supporters, are furious. Harold Ickes stated, "Mrs. Clinton has told me to reserve her right to take this to the Credentials Committee." Said many Clinton supporters, "This is not the Democratic Party!" They were upset that all the votes weren't counted. Hey! I hate to break this to you, but it is a FACT that this is the Democratic Party. And Clinton will continue on through to a scrap on the floor of the Convention. My wife is hotter than your wife.

idrankwhat 0 #161 June 3, 2008 QuoteAh. She is to concede the "delegate race" to him. But why is the camp limiting its congratulations? I don't know. There may be quite a few reasons. She may be trying to figure out a way to continue the fight but then again she may simply be starting the withdrawal process. If she were to simply state "I quit" the resulting crash, shock, furor, and uprising could be quite substantial and detrimental to the party as a whole. She has some rabid supporters that need to be let down slowly if they want to continue to benefit the party. If the end result that she wants is to see McCain defeated then she needs to handle her exit with tremendous alacrity and grace. Also, if she's entertaining the idea of applying for the VP slot then she needs to watch her step. (Personally I don't think Obama's interested, although it might be the wisest choice for the party. That's a tough one.) There's a lot of emotion that needs to be contained and channeled into something productive.

For example, Andrew Johnson had to be prepared to be president. And so did Chester Arthur and Teddy Roosevelt. Even LBJ had to be ready. "And to all of my supporters, I suggest to you that I am more ready than ever to take the reins as president, if such a thing becomes necessary. For example, if Barack were to fall suddenly ill or lifeless as he was being sworn in, I could immediately step in." My wife is hotter than your wife. The VP choice has generally been about diversity (when it's not picking someone as life insurance like Qualye). Not diversity in the sense of racial quotas, but political diversity to gain states you otherwise wouldn't be a contender in.

It feels like she is holding her voters as leverage to gain a veep spot.
