As you know the name Mohammed is so common due to their high regard for the prophet Mohammed. Just because someone is named Mohammed it does not equal terrorist, just as every terrorist is not named Mohammed. Timothy McVeigh comes to mind. Well, Timothy was St. Paul's delegate to the early Christians in Ephesus, so application of Harjulogic shows clearly that Tim McVeigh is proof positive that Christianity is a religion of hate and violence. Ignorance is bliss! I guess you'd be the expert on that. Timothy is first mentioned in the Bible at the time of St. Paul's second visit to Lystra (Acts 16:1-2), where Timothy is mentioned as a "disciple" or "follower." St. Paul, having been impressed by his "own son in the faith," arranged that he should become his companion (Acts 16:3), and personally circumcised him because his mother was of the Jewish faith, so that he might be accepted by the Jews. He was ordained (1 Timothy 4:14) and went with Paul in his journey through Phrygia, Galatia and Mysia; also to Troas, Philippi, Berea (Acts 17) and Corinth (Acts 18:5). His mother, Eunice, and his grandmother, Lois, are noted as eminent for their piety and faith, which indicates that they may have also been Christians. Timothy is praised by Paul for his knowledge of the Scriptures, and is said to have been acquainted with the Scriptures since childhood. The Bible gives little information about Timothy's father; however, it does indicate that he was a Greek (Acts 16:1). According to later tradition, St. Paul ordained St. Timothy as Bishop of Ephesus in the year 65, where he served for 15 years. .... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. Guest #35 August 4, 2008 QuoteYour recurring, racist anti-Muslim threads have really become a crashing bore. That you, a seemingly intelligent person, choose to affect the comportment of an ignoramus, or perhaps a Tourettes patient, is your own prerogative. But you really need to get yourself another act. Uh, what is racist about my remarks? Can you please enlighten me? It's always okay to bash Christians. Where I live (the Seattle area), they're practically burned at the stake. But other religions are welcomed with open arms in the name of "tolerance"... I don't get it. mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." lurch 0 #36 August 4, 2008 You know, I'm a pretty judgemental critter myself. I tend to be particularly harsh on religions and certain umbrella culture groups, the hispanic/black/asian "gangsta" self-identification for example. Nothing to do with race, everything to do with mindset. Islam is another mindset I wouldn't call myself a fan of. But you know, I AM cosmo enough to have made one Muslim friend... Darius11. And you know, that guy is like way cool. Hes a big jolly friendly and intelligent critter and the last time I spent a few hours hangin out on a DZ with him I had a ball, the guy loves to fly. Hes one of those people every time I ran into him somewhere I got an instant big smile on my face cause Darius is just like that, he is a brother and I'm glad to see him when I do. After that, you know, no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to summon any blind unreasoning hatred for muslims. I think you'd feel a lot better about yourself if you learned to let go of the hatred and tried looking for good reasons to respect people instead. It goes a lot further than hate, doesn't poison the soul like hate does and tends to earn you friends. "Hatred is a weakness.
