I dought that because Palin has reduced earmarks bo 50% and total dollars by 35%. seems to be going tj=he wrong way to make your statement true.

Has anyone checked the start date of her earmark reduction campaign with those of the election of a new Congress vowing to eliminate earmarks, a President's sudden and newly founded concern with earmarks and substantial news coverage of Sen Steven's pet pig?
Just curious.

Just curious.

Well, to be fair, they did something. They reversed the trend. Earmarks were reduced in number and amount. Just not by very much. And they seem to have put that one on the back burner for now.

If Bush is really as bad as everyone thinks, and they still couldn't defeat him in 2004 & 2000, what does that say about the quality of people they are putting on the race?

It says more about the repercussions of so many Americans taking pride in their ignorance, considering those with formal educations "elitist."

>Your statement was "gets more money from the US federal
>government than any other state.". Nowhere in that sentence do you say
>anything about Per Capita.

Sorry, I was unclear. Most per capita, third most in _absolute_ dollars. (But give her a few more years and I'm sure she could have taken the gold.)

I already asked you once, how did she do in Wasilla? I think you'll find a substantial growth in spending and a huge growth in debt.

You raise a good point, but it also says something about the quality of voters.

When there are no real replies available, CDIF (BDIF in this case) is always a good fallback.

It is a great reply. You have a politician saying he does not think someone from his own party is ready to lead.

You just want to ignore it since it hurts your candidate.

What was it that Bush's campaign said about McCain in 2000? Something about his time as a POW rendering him too unstable to have access to nuclear weapons, fathering a child with a black prostitute, etc?

the left never wants to admit they have problems with there people. If Bush is really as bad as everyone thinks, and they still couldn't defeat him in 2004 & 2000, what does that say about the quality of people they are putting on the race?

The only current candidate who was also running in 2000 or 2004 is MCCAIN.

So your question really is what does that say about McCain?

the budget did got up but she eliminated property taxes. the town was growing and needed funding to pay for the expansion. the town grew 25% while she was mayor and that means more infrastructure, police, and other things needed for the population. did you expect the budget to go down in a growing town? the waste went down.

In the 2000 GOP debates, Bush was the LEAST articulate of the entire nine candidates, yet he stood there with a silly smirk the whole time.

Why? He was the annointed one, and he knew it.

Not like the lawsuit against the city over what was initially a $140,000 property purchase had much impact on that, I'm sure.
:S

You realize the city was the plaintiff and filed an eminent domain lawsuit against the property owner, right? And that the city, if they were smart, could have bought the property outright for $125,000 in 1998? And that none of this gives Palin a free pass for having dramatically increased spending and leaving the city 20 million dollars in debt?

She did cut property taxes, she also raised sales taxes. The budget she inherited was $8.2M. The budget she handed off to her successor 6 years laster was $18.6M. That's a 127% increase in spending for your touted 25% increase in population, not to mention the $20M debt she also incurred. Yeah, she's a real fiscal conservative.

> i do not condone waste.

No one does.

>that is what Palin has eliminated is a lot of waste.

Well, she expanded the Wasilla government massively, much faster than the population. If she "cut the waste" while she was doing that, then the actual bloating of the local government was larger still. Are you OK with her doing something similar in the US government?

>and sewers, raods and police are not something you or anyone can do without.

Uh, have you ever _been_ to Wasilla?
