Lucky... 0 #277 September 5, 2008 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Seeing as how I'm currently providing healthcare and paying for insurance for myself, wife, two kids, law clerk, receptionist, paralegal and her three kids and anothe rparalegal and her two kids, my actions apparently speak louder than words. So my actions tend to demonstrate that healthcare is important. Yes, care to and yours, but the annonymous person, fuck em, right? Even if they are poor trying to better themselves via education and have a health issue, fuck em. Then you scratch your head wondering how society is so depraved as that person commits a crime. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The issue? I CHOOSE to provide health benefits to my employees. For how many people's health insurance are you paying? Or is the issue that you want other people to pay for other people's health insurance? Those are my actions. And I suppose it is arrogant and perhaps elitist to suggest that my employees are better at deciding what is the best for them. I'm not paying for anyone's, not even my own. I want the gov to provide health insurance for all people, the rich can opt out if they wish and buy better care. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>But you do in another sense. You look down upon "HER" personally. I look down on her not due to to anything but her ideology. She wants to tell kids not fuck cause Jebus wants it that way, then tell people to get their own healthcare or get fucked. Control on one end, apathy on the other - a living hypocrit. >>>>>>>>>>>>>That's a comment that is non-offensive. Not pejorative or insulting. I myself view plenty of her policies as shite. But I think that she's probably a delightful person. That's like saying Bundy was a great guy, just had this little problem murdering people. To me, a person IS what they stand for. If people wanna call me a commie, cool, I am for the people taking care of each other. American Capitalism has run its course, just as Russian Coimmunism, time for American Capitalism to fall and become Socialism so we can become a better nation. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>That comment you made makes for a good discussion. That's my whole point. When attacking the person instead of the policy, then the focus becomes the person and not the policy. No, I'm not committing ad hominem, I think she's trash via her controlling aspect, followed by apathy to people's well-being. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>"Good" people can do "bad" things, and vice versa. "Caring" people can be "cruel." She's a legislator, one like Bush, help the rich, fuck the poor. I don't care if she would be a great dinner date, fascinating conversationalist, I might enjoy discourse with her but think she should strap on a 3rd Reich armband when it comes to politics. My point remains the same as the original post of mine you responded to. I readily admit Palin does not have enough experience to be POTUS. I would prefer her to have at least another 4-6 years of experience as governor of Alaska. However here is were it gets interesting. If she is unqualified to be POTUS...so is Obama and the quandry with me is do I vote against an unqualified vp candidate or against an unqualified Presidential candidate? Or maybe both? Since I really don't know what you're getting at I'll put the ball in your court and give you a chance to convince me Obama is qualified. Even if they are poor trying to better themselves via education and have a health issue, fuck em. Then you scratch your head wondering how society is so depraved as that person commits a crime. Yeah if someone tries to take my money then fuck em. How can you chastise him for taking care of he and his own? If you want healthcare then go get some. Don't have the money, then get a job working for someone like lawrocket whose taking care of his people. Quote I'm not paying for anyone's, not even my own. I want the gov to provide health insurance for all people, the rich can opt out if they wish and buy better care. Imagine my surprise. You're not paying for your own and demanding the government take care of it. If the rich (why people who pay for their own healthcare are considered rich, i dont know) are allowed to get their own care, which doctors do you think will serve them? The best doctors will demand more money than the government will pay, and deservedly so. Therefore, shitty doctors will work for the government unless you mandate they all accept government appointed patients. Then how will the "rich" get better care? Pay more and have the government patients pushed to the back of the line? Quote I look down on her not due to to anything but her ideology. She wants to tell kids not fuck cause Jebus wants it that way, then tell people to get their own healthcare or get fucked. Control on one end, apathy on the other - a living hypocrit. She promotes abstinence but tells people to pay for their own healthcare. That doesn't make her a hypocrit. The two aren't even related. kelpdiver 2 #283 September 5, 2008 Quote Ok we must be having two different conversations. My point remains the same as the original post of mine you responded to. correct: that was this line in post 193: "What's funny about people who are against Palin... when criticizing her experience they always forget she is the Governor of Alaska...NOT the mayor of some small town." Obama has nothing to do with it. All we're talking about is are we missing something when we call her small time. We're not. If you want to expand out, yeah, Obama should have been a candidate in 2016. Instead we're here now. But given a choice, he still beats out McCain, who talks the maverick line but lies, who is questionable on both the 1st and 2nd amendments, and who promises to continue the failed policies of the Bush Administration. wmw999 2,457 #293 September 5, 2008 People are too different from each other for any one policy to work (unless it's forced sterilization). Their motivations are too different, their personalities, and their libidos. That applies to both parents and to children. The fact that abstinence teaching is demonstrably not working on society as a whole does not highlight that the people on whom it doesn't work are defective. Instead it highlights that the use of a single approach to something as complex as human motivation is wrong. Teaching abstinence works for some. Facts work for some. Beatings work for some. Some make good decisions on their own. And some will make bad decisions no matter what. The thing that works best is the one that shows the biggest decline in teenaged birth rates. Not the one that makes you feel the best. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
