Aside from the obvious issues (invasion of privacy, low class, ad infinitum), what is equally concerning me is how this was hacked...was it just password work, or did they find another back door...thus, compromising Yahoo!! further...

Last I saw, Anonymous was claiming responsibility. If that's true then you probably don't need to worry about Yahoo! being compromised. They concentrate their force, for lack of a better word, on a single target.

It was a "personal" account that needed to be removed to protect the privacy of her family members.

In all honesty, the fact that she intentionally uses her personal email account to conduct state business bugs me a little. The proffered rationale that it excludes those emails from public disclosure bugs me more. I can't remember who, but likely Monegan, has disclosed an email reply from her official account, written by one of her staffers that basically said, "Hello dipshit, this isn't her personal account. You know, where you are supposed to send stuff on this topic..."

I believe you've completely missed the point. My post had NOTHING to do with Obama, but rather the intelligence of somebody that, if elected, absolutely will have some information they need to secure.

She wasn't even thinking when it came to her own family's security and using the internet.

Don't confuse being anti-Palin with being pro-Obama.

Actually, they're both part of the Patriot Act if I recall correctly.

The "hackers," again if I recall correctly, can be charged with terrorist attacks under those provisions.

They don't need to be "paranoid," but they certainly should show at least a little concern for their family's welfare and certainly ought to know how the world works as far as people hacking the information available on the internet of "celebrities."

She's pro-gun so she certainly thinks at least a little about security, but when it comes to the internet she's obviously naive as hell.

I don't think this can be spun as "having no concern for her family's welfare" or even "not knowing how the world works." She screwed up and didn't think about how her security/privacy measures would have to change as she joined the campaign. No doubt there is an entire team of experts from the McCain campaign right now going over such things with her and her office. Problem solved.

A deliberate and planned use of "personal" email accounts to evade "sunshine" laws really should open your eyes to the level of ethics the woman has. I view this "invasion of privacy" as a spectacular example of the sunshine laws being enforced by technically savvy people, in spite of the best efforts made to evade them. Take a step back and think about it from a more global perspective. The part that ALL sides seem to forget, D or R, is that they are supposed to be working for US, as in, the people in the USA. Not their own self interests. They work for us, not vice versa.
Don't We, The People, deserve to have our representatives be held responsible for their actions while in office? How will we know if they have been honorable and truthful unless they are compelled to cooperate with investigations being conducted?

D or R, it doesn't matter to me. The job of the opposition, and the so called "free press" is to conduct and maintain oversight of those in power. Checks and balances is a term that comes to mind. The system used to work a lot better than it has been recently. At the moment, it is pretty broken.

And we, the people aren't doing anything positive to stop the BS. We deserve the government we get.
