Did she flip flop or did she answer a loaded question appropriately and then later when given an opportunity explain her position more clearly?

You DO know the Eagle Forum is a right wing organization, so if the question was "loaded", whose fault was that?

She had plenty of time to consider her view and respond appropriately - the Eagle Forum questionnaire was WRITTEN, as was her response. Her answer could not have been clearer.

If you want to talk "loaded", the survey you linked on parents' views was a classic example. You did see who funded it, right?

Yes the survey was extremely loaded however it doesn't change the fact that Palin's opinion on sex ed falls in line with the majority. You don't like her. I get that. I see thing differently than you but I do respect your opinion. :)

As was pointed out in the article you posted, you get different responses to surveys depending on how the question is phrased. Concluding anything about majority views from a loaded survey is not possible.

I find Palin's views on rape victims' rights so thoroughly deplorable that even if she were centrist in all her other views I would not support her. As it is, she is clearly a Bush Republican.

I guess I am lost my friend, I really didn’t think we need to teach people that they don’t have to have sex.

I dont think that is what is being said here.

I agree sex drive is in our DNA. But, we also have been given a higher brain function than any other species on the planet.
.....

Teaching all aspects is NOT what Palin preaches.

Really?

Prove it!

Mind finding a source for that? I can't.

Specifically, Palin has a record of opposing any school-based sexual education program other than those that adopt an abstinence-only approach. During her 2006 Alaska gubernatorial campaign, Palin responded to a question on sex education programs with the answer, "The explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support."

Yeah Bilvon showed me that earlier this week and with a quick google search I found explicit sex education is not the same as comprehensive sex education. The latter is what she is being criticised for opposing based on a question and answer that had nothing to do comprehensive sex education.

Explain how "comprehensive" is "abstinence only", which is all she supports.

Explain how sex ed can be comprehensive without being explicit.

You are playing silly semantic games.

And you repost lies until you believe them.

You have a history of that you know

>As it is, she is clearly a Bush Republican.

Bush approval: 27% disapproval: 68%

>And that my friend is what is going to get her elected!!!!

Political Wire:

Gov. Sarah Palin’s favorable/unfavorable ratings have suffered a stunning 21 point collapse in just one week, according to Research 2000 polling. Last week, 52% approved and 35% disapproved of the GOP vice presidential nominee (+17 net). This week, 42% approved and 46% disapprove (-4 net).

Newsweek:

Between Sept. 13 and Sept. 17, the Alaska governor’s unfavorables had climbed in the Diageo/Hotline poll from 30 percent to 37 percent; her favorables, meanwhile, had fallen from 52 percent to 47 percent. All in all, she’d gone from the most to least popular White House hopeful over the course of five short days.

I have a feeling that McCain operatives will be coaching her on how to say less on her less popular views.

To me it is impossible to make anyone be abstinent unless they choose to for their own belief. Not doing something is always an option what needs to be thought?

I haven't been talking about forcing anyone to be abstinent. And as far as what needs to be taught, education about how women get pregnant and how STD's are spread is what needs to be taught. I think a teenager who understands those things is a lot more likely to remain abstinent (or at least engage in safer sex) than a teenager who is simply told, "Don't have sex."

The indisputable fact is that abstinence is the best way to prevent pregnancy or STD's. But if you're not going to remain abstinent, then there are ways for making sex safer. These are the things that kids should be taught. And that's what I plan on teaching my kids (if I have any), whether the schools are teaching it or not.

----------------------------------------------------------
to bad the rest of the country's parents won't sit down and talk to the kids about this. this is how the problem starts and spreads, the parents won't educate or be accountible for their kids.

Palin's sex-ed views Palin in a July 2006 survey was asked if she supported abstinence-only sex education programs instead of "explicit sex education programs, school-based clinics and distribution of contraceptives in schools." Palin wrote, "Yes the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support." In a radio interview in August 2006, Palin was asked whether programs that discuss condoms are included in "explicit" programs. Palin said no and called discussions of condoms "relatively benign." She added, "I'm pro-contraception and I think kids who may not hear about it at home should hear about it in other avenues. So I am not anti-contraception. But, yeah, abstinence is another alternative that should be discussed with kids. I don't have a problem with that. That doesn't scare me, so it's something I would support also."

I am not a Palin/McCain..I mean McCain/Palin supporter but thought this might interest those discussing Palin's stance on sex-ed.

She is not even in office yet and were going to get the “I don’t recall” answer to every thing. 8 years of that is enough.

Please get this right.......its "I do not recall" (untill I sign my 5 million dollar book deal)

SO any wacky or extreme view from a candidate is OK as long as you don't think it will progress?

Doesn't seem to be a problem for you, so long as they're Democrats saying them.

Perhaps you haven't been keeping up with current events. Bush is, unfortunately, the current POTUS.
