Fiveball 0 #1 September 30, 2006 I was riding up actually on my first jump, and we had one bumper guy (jumps at lower altitude for less $$)in the Cessna caravan. Instead of exiting straight out and falling he jumped out the door missing the horiz. stab by inches. Amazingly he had a camera on his head, didnt see the video but i bet it was crazy. Its very important on those drops on the way up to normal altitude to not jump. Usually the aircraft/ pilot will not want to slow down so will not have as much of a pronounced "hump" in flight. The normal hump around 13,500 agl allows you to avoid the stab.

kwmontreal 0 #5 October 2, 2006 There is no excuse for not leveling out and slowing up the aircraft!! If you don't want to follow good safety, don't permit these jumps, or, put together a H&P load. I realize that it may be impossible to fill the load, but you can have a few individuals. There is NO REASON not to be safe! Best practice (read: most safest) should be followed.
