700 million dollar bullshit

Recommended Posts

What the hell are our leaders thinking bailing out banks for 700 billion dollars? I am probable wrong in thinking this but does it make sense?

Banks give credit to people that shouldn't have it.
American people get credit that they know they shouldn't have. US government racked up multi trillion dollar debt with no way of paying it back. Blah Blah Blah

Why the hell do we keep pouring more money into a train wreck that already happened? Are they trying to delay the wreck for the next 100 generations to deal with?

Let the market crash, let we the people suffer for a while. Let us learn that we fucked up and start re-building the right way not compound the problem..

Thoughts???

I think this will go to Speaker's Corner soon...

I was also against the bailout bill. BTW, you were wrong on the dollar amount, it's $850B, not $700B...:S

How are you coming to this conclusion? I think it's a fair assumption to make, that - most people do not borrow money without having the intention to pay it back. Yes, obviously it is possible to have problems arise from borrowing money, but seldom do people not pay their bills simply for the sake of not paying their bills...without cause and/or reason(s.)

I also predict this thread is going to SC - in 3....2....1.... ;)

no one wants another depression

The Nikkei opened down 3%. Hang Seng down 4.97%...the last one was prolonged by the government trying to "help" :|

I was wondering how the fuck this thread ended up here? Was the moderator who moved it drunk?

Probably, but since it is here we need to stick to the topic of the forum and welcome Jason and encourage him.

Way to go Jason! That's great! Nice. I love everything about what you are about sweetie. Keep on keeping on. Yeah! I know you are upset about the money and stuff but maybe if you start packing you'll be able to pay off your debt and make some more jumps. Don't worry about what the man is doing. Just keep jumping. We love that about you. :D:D

1999 congress forced fannie mae to accept zero down payment loans and also those with little or no documentation -- meaning the borrower did not need to prove their income. this was in the face of events from the mid 80s when the zero down payment mortgage was dropped because of increasing foreclosures.

for years main street america has been told their debt was far too high and their savings far too low.

main street america has an obsessive fascination with bright and shiny -- to better impress their peers and others -- look at how the iphone sold on its first day, not to mention the sales of hdtv's, suv's etc.etc,...

this crash was coming for years -- remarkable how good hindsight is -- but the blame does not rest with industry -- there is NO market without a buyer. If anyone really wants to see where blame should be placed -- look in the closest mirror.

am i opposed to the $700 Billion equities investment (yes note i did not say bailout -- read the text of the bill)? yes but only because i feel disgusted that everytime main street america gets its ego centric arrogant & self serving asses in trouble they expect the government to bail them out and then whine about how hard they have it.

personally i would rather do a roosevelt -- let the houses go into foreclosure and put those people out in a WPA effort.

Looks like the bailout will be managed by those wonderful bankers who put us in the crapper in the first place:

money.cnn.com/2008/10/06/news/economy/treasury_hiring_guidelines/index.htm

And the people who get to decide how much the taxpayers will pay for those toxic assets will be the people who designed them and own them.

Hmmm I wonder how many pack jobs it would take to pay off a $10,191,269,641,262.35 debt.... I'll take a government stance on this. Packing sucks so I will pay someone to do it and if they screw it up I will pay them more....;););););)

Thank God for Packers!!!!B|B|B|B|B|
