Would You Vote For William Ayers For President?

Recommended Posts

>If McCain had gone to KKK meetings for 20 years (or even a single meeting), It
>would be safe to say that ANY rational person would have a problem with that.

OK, then.

In the 1980's, McCain actually sat on the board of the anti-semitic group called the "U.S. Council for World Freedom." The group has been linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America. Note that he didn't just go to a meeting; he sat on the board. In 1986 he expressed his strong support for them, commenting that "they’re for freedom and they’ve got some good people involved."

So given that you have a problem with that, are you changing who you support?

Again with the redirect.:S The standard answer when "Your" candidate is questioned... Attack the other candidate. (Both sides here are equally guilty on that and that is pretty sad)

And to answer your question.. My mind is not yet made on who to vote for so it would be impossible to change who "I support" as I cannot with conviction truly support any of the candidates that are running. Currently it is looking like a lesser or the evils type choice for me unfortunately.

Uh, dude, read your own post. Your own post started off with "If McCain . . . "

If you don't want to talk about McCain, don't bring him up.

Wow.. I brought that up huh?

Bill, Read it one more time and tell me who brought McCain up?

You seem to be interchanging Wright and Ayers at will here, resulting in a jumbled and often inaccurate argument. My post addressed only one of them.
Please stay more focused.

Ummm.. When YOU said:
Quote

Did you expect black ideologues to be McCain supporters?

^(Hey Bill.. Hint.. Look here for the answer to my last question to you)^

I assumed you meant Rev. Wright as calling Ayers a Black Ideologue would be somewhat of a stretch.

Please note I Identified all 3 questionable relationships (And I agree that ALL 3 (McCain/Keating, Obama/Wright and Obama/Ayers) are questionable) and kept them separate after addressing you KKK comment.

what about the money for college that was given out by Obama under the instruction of Ayers?

elections.foxnews.com/2008/08/22/university-of-illinois-to-release-obama

sounds like Obama has been involved alot longer and deeper with ayers than he wants to admit. this is beyond poor judgement, this is a very deep relationship and shows he didn't get a little messed up and got out, but is still up to his eyes in it.

but I replied to your post that you began with the words "If McCain . . . " Generally you are responsible for what you write.

Oh, I believe in personal responsibility. I did indeed write that in response to the person that brought up McCain.

You can try to twist that all day long if you like. It will not make anything I wrote any less true nor will it make your implication that Iwas the one that brought McCain into this discussion any more true.

Care to actually discuss the topic at hand here?
Obama`s relationship with Ayers is where we started.
Quote

"In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the district’s influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn."

Is this true? Does it matter if it is?

It does to me. Ayers is a Terrorist and a self proclaimed Communist. I generally oppose both those concepts. Starting out your political career from his living room was a pretty bad idea in my opinion.

Obama`s ties to Ayers are deeper than his campaign wants to admit. True or False?

We can also discuss the other topics brought up in the course of the original discussion (again by someone else) such as Obamas 20 Year relationship with Rev. Wright.

I would also be happy to talk about McCains screw up with Keating. McCain blew it on that one. He readily admits it. Nothing being hidden there.

Take your pick.. But if you want to play the attack the opponent and/or the poster as your response, I don’t really see the point of playing along.

BTW there might be a tiny difference between the husband of a VP and the presidential nominee.

Is it relevant to examine Todd Palin's association with a hate-America secessionist group? Is it relevant to examine Michell Obama's college thesis?

Would you vote for a Nazi lover?

Associated Press
updated 6:10 a.m. ET, Tues., Oct. 7, 2008

McCain's ties are facing renewed scrutiny after his campaign criticized Barack Obama for his link to a former radical who engaged in violent acts 40 years ago.

The U.S. Council for World Freedom was part of an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America. The group was dedicated to stamping out communism around the globe.

'New guy on the block'
"McCain was a new guy on the block learning the ropes," Singlaub told The Associated Press in an interview. "I think I met him in the Washington area when he was just a new congressman. We had McCain on the board to make him feel like he wasn't left out. It looks good to have names on a letterhead who are well-known and appreciated. "

Palin isnt running for president. McCain is.

Please stop pretending you don't know that 1 in 5 VPs have become President in the middle of the term via Constitutional succession. Or that McCain isn't a 72 year old man whose body was ravaged by years of captivity and has had cancer, but refuses to allow his medical records to be verified as complete and un-redacted, copied and taken off-premises for careful, un-hurried examination by medical experts.

Every VP candidate is running for potential President.
It is irresponsible for any voter not to consider this.

OK, cool. Moving on -

I'd say they are deeper than his campaign wants to admit, and nowhere as deep as you claim.

It is pretty clear that they are no more than casual acquaintances, and your claiming they are somehow "in cahoots" is as misleading as me claiming that I am "in deep" with Patrick Swayze, since I met him once and jumped with his brother a bunch of times. And I GAVE HIM MONEY by seeing his movies! No doubt he supports everything I do 100%.

Hey.. Progress. Actually discussing the topic at hand.

But back to trying to tell the truth without distorting or twisting what I said. Please show me where I stated or even implied "In Cahoots". I did not. (We got you away from attack the Opponent.. Now if just get to don’t attack the poster by completely twisting what they said)

I said since his Introduction to the prominent Lefties in his area as the hand picked successor to state senator Alice Palmer was made in Bill Ayers Living Room at a party hosted by Bill Ayers (I am assuming here that since it was in his Bill Ayers Home, he was the host).

Still think your casual acquaintance stretch applies?

Been to Swayzees house?? Ever had him host a party or luncheon for you? If so then I think he counts as more than a casual acquaintance. Of course your definition may be different than mine.

Think good old Pat would help you Launch your political Aspirations if he didnt see eye to eye with you on most things?

John McCain has hung around DC with the biggest terrorist bunch on the planet. His pals Dick and W.

McCain even has that terrorist groups advisors on his payroll.

Getting untold thousands of innocent people killed, bankrupting our nation and profiteering with our military operations using our children's blood and futures.

Please, the Ayers thing is a joke of a charge against Obama. The Bush family has hung out with the Taliban and Saudis for years.

let's get back to restoring pride and prosperity to our great nation.

"When someone like Bill Ayers hosts your introduction to the local political elite in his home, You would think that maybe, just maybe.. They share many of the same beliefs."

>Been to Swayzees house?

Nope. Think Obama was there for Ayer's brother when he broke his foot the second time? No? Then I am actually CLOSER to Swayze than Obama was to Ayers!

(Hopefully you can see how stupid that angle gets.)

>Think good old Pat would help you Launch your political Aspirations if he didnt
>see eye to eye with you on most things?

Nope. But I am sure my opponents would claim that he did if they could find something to pin on him.

As best I can tell, Ayers was never convicted of any criminal acts as a member of the Weathermen and all charges against him were dropped, which would make him an "alleged" terrorist at worst. Additionally, nothing in your quote suggests that Obama selected Ayers house for his "coming of age" introduction to kick off what would later become a successful political career. Finally, according to the Washington Post, Ayers donated $200 to Obama's state senate campaign and nothing to his federal campaigns. If contributions are indicative of allegience, Obama is more indebted to me than he is to William Ayers.

So in your eyes "in cahoots" and "They share many of the same beliefs" are synonymous. Interesting.

One last time.. Is it possible for you have a discussion without grossly twisting and distorting what was actually said?

Yes. It is pretty clear to me the Swayzee analogy is a pretty stupid (your words, not mine) angle and really has no correlation to the Obama/Ayers relationship.

Dave.. Honestly.. is that what you believe?
Alleged?? Really?? WOW!!

I can completely understand that you are sold on Obama.. But to defend Ayers by saying "he was never convicted". The guy blew up buildings and got away with it on a technicality. Here is a quote from Bill Ayers Himself, ""I don't regret setting bombs" and "I feel we didn't do enough", and, when asked if he would "do it all again" as saying "I don't want to discount the possibility."

He IS a terrorist. Plain and simple. Absoluely nothing alledged about that.
