Would You Vote For William Ayers For President?

Ayers was never convicted of any criminal acts as a member of the Weathermen and all charges against him were dropped, which would make him an "alleged" terrorist at worst.

Dave.. Honestly.. is that what you believe?
Alleged?? Really?? WOW!!

I can completely understand that you are sold on Obama.. But to defend Ayers by saying "he was never convicted". The guy blew up buildings and got away with it on a technicality. Here is a quote from Bill Ayers Himself, ""I don't regret setting bombs" and "I feel we didn't do enough", and, when asked if he would "do it all again" as saying "I don't want to discount the possibility."

He IS a terrorist. Plain and simple. Absoluely nothing alledged about that.

Perhaps "As best I can tell" wasn't a sufficient qualifier. I know the charges against him were dropped. I don't know what those charges were, nor why they were dropped. I simply believe that he should be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Do I think he's a "good guy"? Of course not. That's why I further stated that I've seen no evidence that he and Obama are particularly close.

You know, it's funny. The condemnation of Ayers certainly makes sense. Yet I hear a lot of conservative people, who vilify the Weather Underground, etc., talk about the possibility that, if need be, the people might rise up against a tyrannical government. (Sometimes in a 2nd Amendment context, sometimes in other contexts). Many (not all) of these same people refer to Waco and Ruby Ridge as small-scale examples of governmental tyranny butting heads with civilian uprising against government oppression. So I guess in some way it's a matter of whose ox is getting gored: one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

This thread has nothing to do with McCain! You always turn it around when people attach liberals ( with facts).... Why is that? Cant deal with the facts? Try sticking to the topic at hand..... or maybe you should start your own thread about "Liberals against republicans no matter how much you prove us wrong":S

Nothing opens like a Deere!

You ignorant fool! Checks are for workers!

A major difference is that most do not support the participants of Waco or Ruby Ridge's criminal actions. The 'tyranny' is the dislike how the Govt reacted in those situations.

Very few people supported the illegal actions.

He didn't use poor judgment or good judgment. He did not "deal with Ayers." He met him a few times. He has as much connection to Ayers as I have to Kathy Ireland or Patrick Swayze.

Better do some more research, Bill.
