Do you really think you're going to change anyones views on SC? LOL
I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

I think I'll dim the lights, make spooky noises and go get some popcorn.

Obama's connection with Chicago's 1997 "Citizen of the year" doesn't scare me nearly as much as McCain's lobbyist connections i.e., his staff, or most of all, his foreign policy adviser/lobbyist. But I'll admit that his choice for VP comes in at a close second.

What part of "nobody gives a shit" do you not understand?

It will not change a single vote. End of story.

closed minds make for poor choices. to bad the left is making a really poor choice. go ahead ignore the facts and the possiblities that will come from your poor choice and when i sit and collect from you because i decided to be a lazy pice of shit and Obama gave me your money don't whine, smile.

there is no reward for working hard anymore, why the dem's will give you what you want from somebody elses hard work.

You do that! Let us know how it goes.

Maybe it's time to start another list to go along with the "who will leave the US" list - people who will quit and collect welfare when Obama becomes president. I have a feeling people will talk about it about the same amount (i.e. lots) and follow through about the same amount (i.e. not at all.)

as you know that was sarcasm. i feel anyone that lives on welfare or free medical for any length of time is a piece of shit. i understand people have hard times but the bottom 10 - 30% of the people in this country are generally lazy pieces of shit, but why not, Obama is here for them to give them what all the hard working people of this country earned. i'm all for giving help but that's when it ends.

If you can't get a job and support youself it's because you are lazy and unmotivated and should be left to starve. it used to be that if you were the town bum you were looked down on now every town bum deserves a house and free meals at our expense and if he doesn't get it acorn will picket some buisiness until they give the bum what they think he is intittled to.

welfare should be on a desending rate and when it runs out you go hungry. also why can you cash your welfare check at the casino? why does someone get welfare that just bought $10,000 in rims for his car without paying his child support or insurance? the system is greatly abused and with the new policies coming in with Obam the abuse will grow expencially

> it used to be that if you were the town bum you were looked down on . . .

Actually, the "town bum" traditionally did OK; charity is generally more plentiful in smaller towns. It's the bigger cities that have more of a problem.

>now every town bum deserves a house and free meals at our expense . . .

True - but as the mortgage bailout happened under Bush I don't think you can blame Obama for that one.

>welfare should be on a desending rate and when it runs out you go
>hungry.

I think it should be administered by intelligent people. The mother of 2 whose husband was just killed in a robbery, and whose house just burned in the Campo fire, should perhaps get a bit longer to get another job than the college dropout who doesn't want to work at McDonald's any more.

> also why can you cash your welfare check at the casino?

Uh, because there are check cashing places at casinos? (Here's a shocker - if you sue a doctor who misdiagnosed you with lung cancer, and win, you could use the money to buy cigarettes!)

>the system is greatly abused and with the new policies coming in with
>Obam the abuse will grow expencially

Not sure I got the whole meaning there, but I agree with you that there are a lot of abuses. I would go along with any attempt to ameliorate those abuses.

Interesting that they want to blame Obama for the welfare system and he has not even been elcted yet.

Interesting revisionist historical perspective that some of the fringe right here in SC have... considering who actually did something about the welfare system and who did not.

Your Republican hero Bush just handed out the world's largest welfare check.

put together by the dem's with a shitload of pork. should have been vetoed but since he is cleaning up the dem's mess to begin with why not. not like he had a lot of choices.

You do realize that it was Bush's administration that proposed the legislation, and the first $700 BILLION worth of welfare, right? And I'm not sure that "pork" is the right word for the amount of money we're talking about, but it in any case it was added to appease the Republicans who wouldn't approve the bill without it.

i think the bill is a piece of shit. i think bush and the rep's fucked up on this one. i think we missed a perfect opertunity to fix things the right way by making companies go under and the little guy getting the chance to grow out of demand becuase the big guy isn't there anymore. this was a perfect opertunity to redistribute the wealth the right way, not by taking it from the wealthy but letting them loose it and learn from their mistakes.

I think if all one ever did was watch "vidoes" that statement might well be credible. For those who read as well, the The Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 and The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act are good reading.

If you truly believe that, and it wasn't just a pop-off remark, then you really have no idea what's going on with that bill.

You're correct insomuch as I haven't read the 400+ page resolution that passed. You're incorrect if you're suggesting that it wasn't corporate welfare.
